This live recording of the 50th anniversary show of the soul music institution is also something of a celebration of the Four Tops' natural home, Motown. Guest appearances from Aretha Franklin, Mary Wilson, and Ashford & Simpson, though welcome, are mere icing on the cake; though battered by illness, the group performs creditable versions of their hits like "Baby I Need Your Loving," "Something About You," and "Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever," the latter oddly featuring ex-Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers. As a final highlight, they blaze through a medley of five of their best-loved hits.
