I read this book because my wife brought it home and left it sitting on my desk so I assumed it was some sort of gift. I found out later that the phone rang as she walked by my desk and she forgot to pick it back up.
This was the first MHC book that I have read and I wasn't sure what to expect. I know she is a top tier suspense writer and there were a lot of ups and downs that went on as I read and there were plenty of things along the lines of dead bodies and frantic suspense. I also liked that there were several different possible answers to whom the "bad guy" might be, but beware, if you read a lot of suspense novels you'll probably figure this one out rather quickly.
There was a little too much romance type stuff going on in it to really suit me and the main character was one of those that if it were a movie you'd be screaming at her and calling her an idiot. I also thought the book could have ended about 100 pages sooner and no valuable information would have been lost.
All in all, it was worth reading and my wife swears that this is one of MHC's best books yet.

I purchased the book because I like this author. I thought that this was supposed to be judging the book and not the seller, but I see 2 reviews on the seller..come on people..do what we are asked. I liked the book, it kept me interested to the end...and there were more than one that could have been the culprit. I have not read "Two Little Girls in Blue" so will have to look for that one. If you like mysteries that are clean and not full of sex and vulgar language, then you will like this book...I did.

If you are a MHC fan, you will find this book as delightful as any she has written. Sometimes, MHC has a few too many characters in some of her books, but this one was on a lighter vein and an easy read. Much mystery, a little romance, and overall, I would rate it between good and excellent. A must have book for any MHC fan.

I love the way Mary Higgins Clark writes, She really makes it hard to book the book down. I read it in 1 night!!!! It is a book that keeps you on the edge, you cannot wait to get to the end to see what happens! I own every book and will continue to read as long as she keeps writing.

As always, Mary Higgins Clark writes a book that is very hard to put down. Her charactors and the story line are always fresh. Her stories keep your interest. Number 1 author in my book!!

I just finished this book last night. I could not put it down! I loved it! Then again my opinion may be a little one sided - I am a HUGE MHC fan! I love just about everything she writes! However, I do agree with some of the other reviews - there were a few parts that were a little slow and I must admit I skimmed through a few pages - but that was only because I was so intrigued that could not wait to get it all figured out! lol

I am a MHC fan and read all of her books. This is definitely in her style and she keeps you in suspense as she leads you through the book. This is one you just can't put down. If you are into Clark, I recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.

I have read all of Higgins Clark books and by far this is the slowest...I'll continue to read her books, love the mystery. But this book jumps to events and doesn't give the reader the ability to "get connected" to the main character or others.

Seller notified me that she had misplaced the book or may have sent it out with other books they had for sales. Got a refund from them. WHAT I REASLLY WANT TO RATE IS: my order or several charms from peanutcharms. I wrote to ebay of the dispute I had with them. You told me to write to paypal. I did so, they did not investigate my whole complaint with her, and ruled for peanutcharms. This has left me with broken charms, wrong size braclet, bent pin, a pendant instead of a charm, and one item I didn't get at all from them. I paid 169. dollars and change for all the wrong items and broken ones. I wrote to paypal about an appeal, they said they have forwarded my complaint to the proper dept. and I still haven't heard anything back. This has been going on since May. I have called as written several times now with no results. Since ebay owns paypal, I feel that you as a big comglomerant should do something about this.

I really wanted to read the above book, but the seller claimed I had not paid him for it, and had to go thru PAYPAL litigation to prove that I had paid for it twice. The case is settled, but..........I have not read the book, and am sure it is as good as all Mary Higgins Clark Books are, as I have read nearly all of them....A very bad experience with this seller, and certainly would not buy from him again, regardless of his profile stating 99.9 % satisfaction.....NOT TRUE in my case...Poor bookkeeping

I bought it because I have all of Mary Higgins Clark's books and have never been disappointed in any of her novels. The suspense begins with the first page and holds onto you until the end. The characters are clearly drawn and believable. For the first time, I had a good idea who the culprit was before it was revealed. Only at the reveal was I sure. I liked the epilogue -- one year later. One question that was unanswered even in the epilogue was "what happened to the step-mother?" I wanted to know that she was dealt with for her part in the crimes.

Big DisappointmentThis was a big disappointment . Most Mary Higgins Clark books are page turners and this needed discipline to finish.

I let a neighbor use my computer to purchase this book. She misplaced the invoice and has now gone on vacation leaving me with the mess to clean up. I have ask for the address 4 times and just get the run around. In the mean time it is putting a black mark againist me. I would suggest to anyone wanting to do business with this person to think twice.

I actually bought this as a gift for my mother and I'm not sure if she's read it yet. She loves Mary Higgins Clark's other books, though, and she definitely wanted this. When I read the description, it sounded like a really good story! I appreciated being able to find the book at such a good price on Half.com. I'll be borrowing it from mom as soon as she's finished reading it.
