This book teaches everyone about the science of sleep, without being a scientific text book. All parents, not only new parents, can learn how to make a healthier and happier child only by helping their kids sleep better!
The authors method really works, for young and older kids...and parents.

I read this book with all 3 of my children and believe every parent should read it. I think he addresses well the different approaches & personalities of parents (such as co-sleepers & non-co-sleepers), and advises how to train your child to be a good sleeper in your home with your personality. Truth is children need sleep to be healthy and content. I think it's easy to jump around & read exactly what areas pertain to your child's age. Great even through teens!

This book helped me and my twins with sleeping habits that make you child happier and healthier. It walks you throough each period from birth through pre-k, and each sleeping phase your child will go through. I also helps you when sleep schedules are interrupted and your child wakes frequently through the night. My twins were waking at three hour intervals THROUGH THE NIGHT! This book helped me to get them to sleep from 8:30 pm to 8:30 am! They also take two 1:30 minute naps a day! I have given this book as a gift to my pregnant girlfriends. IT WORKS!

What I did not like was the part saying to let the baby cry itself to sleep, no matter how long it took. Come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the information I have read in this book. I love that the book is not too long. I have not found anything I dislike about the book yet. I bought this to help us with our new baby.

Horrible - Guide to in-home child abandonment.

This idiot's approach is easy to sum up. Let your child scream until it gives up. He actually tells you that if your child screams until it pukes to not clean it up until the child is asleep. Never mind that the child could easily choke. So, you don't have to read the book. Just abandon your child right in your own home until it realizes that its parents don't give a crap and it will give up and pass out. I teach karate. I would love to get the author into my class so I can use his ideology to teach him karate. And he can scream all that he wants to.

Sure, if you are not careful you can teach your child that if it plays its cards right that it can keep you in the room until dawn. There does exist some middle ground where you can be there for your child and at the same time teach it to sleep on its own. Just use a lot of love and even just a little common sense.

I do suggest buying this book. Then burn it. At least that will keep one copy from misleading someone into thinking that this guy knows what he is talking about.
