He Got Game (DVD, 1998, Widescreen)

Spike Lee got the idea from such NBA players like Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury. Remember Allen Iverson was jailed when he was 17 but the Govenor of Virginia gave Iverson a pardon to go play at Georgetown. The connection with Marbury was. Marbury was from Coney Island and highly recruited coming out of High School.

This movie was quite interesting as a Man is sent to prison for murdering his wife. His only son is fantastic in Basketball and is ready to sign on to College Ball. The wardon at the prison wants the young man to play for his alma mater and sets a caveat to the prisoner that he is released temporarily to get his son to sign at his alma mater. You will see a heated debate between father and son.

A great movie to watch for those who like basketball movies. The best thing about this movie is that t gives insight into the world of basketball in regards to recruiting and the lure of the NBA. Ray Allen and Denzel did a great job of acting in this movie. He Got Game gives you a glimpse into the tug-o-war of what a highly sought after basketball recruit has to deal with. From hanger ons, hand-outs and shady agents, this movie did a great job of showing what Ray Allen's character had to deal with in regards to hia basektball future.

This movie is just great, the combined amazing acting from Ray Allen professional NBA star and superstar actor Denzel washington in one of his best performances ever. The story of people who come from homes with little or no material things and then grow themselves as human beings to strive and succeed and get themselves those material things we all desire is remarkable.

The DVD came rather quickly and was not damage at all. AS stated it was unused and still in the original plastic. Quality was great because it was brand new. Great product and great seller

I always enjoyed this movie. I decided to buy it when Ray Allen was traded to my Boston Celtics! Winning the championship makes the movie that much better. Add another championship and he's a sure hall of famer!

I bought this film because my sons love Ray Allen and were curious to see him in a motion picture. Unfortunately, I thought this film was PG-13, so when I saw the R rating, I knew it would be inappropriate for them. It's a good film and I will save it for my kids when they reach adulthood!

i like that the product was brand new and was delivered in the time frame that it was said to be shipped and delivered. i brought this item because i had it on VHS but somehow the VHS got lost. i also like this movie.

I bought this dvd because I love Denzel. This movie was boring.
There were times when I thought, 'can we just get on with it?'.
In my opinion, it is a low budget, almost like home-made movie.
Let me explain this statement. The music chosen in a movie is
a large factor in the outcome in the viewing experience. Have
you ever taken some of your old 8mm home movies and had them put
on dvd? Well, we have and the person who did this for us used some
old instrumentals, just home-made boring, would rather have no
soundtrack music. That is my opinion of this movie, I wish I
didn't buy it, never saw it, but I still love Denzel!
