Album Notes HAZE PRESENTS...NEW YORK REALITY CHECK 101 is a continuous, in-the-mix recording by DJ Premier. Producers include: George Sulmers, Madsol-Desar, Ques, Charlemagne, Da Beatminerz. On the heels of the above-ground CROOKLYN CUTS mixtape series, DJ Premier digs even deeper into his crates to bless heads with a strictly underground compilation. Plainly put by Mr. Dave at the onset of a 75-minute studio session that sees Primo juggle 14 raw 12-inches from a rag-tag group of largely-unknown artists, "This is the best of the independent that came out." Premier's tension-building cuts and untouchable track selection make NEW YORK REALITY CHECK 101 one of the best underground compilations ever.
