Lets face it.... cars are a luxury, therefore an expense. The simple fact is, no matter how you look at it, even if your car runs perfect all the time, you still have to put gas in it to make it go. Expense! But who's car runs perfect all the time? If you have one, let me know so I can get one too! But honestly, at some point in time your car needs some attention. Whether it is the simple oil change, brakes, or something more difficult, wouldn't it be nice to do it yourself as opposed to shelling out a bunch of cash to have someone else do it for you? The Haynes line of repair manuals are perfect for the novice level and up do it yourselfers! Not only do they put the tasks in an easy to understand text, they use excellent photographs to accompany the written repair. Making this a extremely valuable asset to someone with a little motivation to save themselves some hard earned money!

I have been buying Haynes Automotive Manuals for my vehicles for years. This is just one more in my library. I bought it because I recently purchased a Bronco II built in 1988. I will be restoring this vehicle, an the Haynes manuals are by far the best for the do-it-yourself mechanic. Well illustrated, easy to follow steps, and best of all, the pictures are from real cars, not factory studio set-ups. What you see looks like your own car or truck. Although some of the major work, such as engine rebuilding, or transmission repair is beyond my skill and toolbox limit, it helps to know what I will be paying for should I need work done outside my own garage.

Good diagnostic/troubleshooting sections are also important, and Haynes provides those as well.

Some automotive manuals are strictly for the school-trained mechanic. I learned mine by doing starting when I was a teenager. So if the book says something like "proceed in the usual manner," I might not know what that is, and hesitate to start. Haynes realizes that limitation and spells out each step.

It was a good book, good pictures, instructions, etc. I was a good book, I liked the cover and the back page too. The instructions were easy to read. I haven't had time to use it because I am writing this review, Im I at the 100 mark yet??

it was just what i needed to complete repair of my 1989 ford ranger. price at autozone was over 21.00 dollars, this is a real good deal.

Since I was sent a DIFFERENT book than I purchased, It is EXTREMELY difficult to give an honest review.

I purchased it as a gift for my brother-in-law who owns a 1998 year/style truck, not a 1983-1992!

I have several of these manuals for the various vehicles I have had over the past 25 years. They are very helpful in repairing vehicles and the rebuilding of engines. Because of current gas prices I bought a 1992 Ranger pickup locally for $500 because it had a four cylinder and a 5-speed transmission. It ran poorly and I found that it had a cracked head so I bought a rebuilt head and all needed parts and gaskets on Ebay. One of the first things I bought was this Haybes Manual because I needed the technical and visual data it provided. I have bought other used Haynes Manuals on Ebay and will continue to do so as the need arises. I can find them at a much reduced price from that of retail. Thank you for that possibility.
