Anyone, who owns this van, should own this book. And throw out the service manual from chrysler. And take your chiltons book and place under the engine block when you rebuild it, at 300,000 miles. you might need a cushion in case the block falls.
I have owned petersens and chiltons, but 20 years ago, I started buying the Haynes manuals, becuase they were far more superior than Chiltons. More informative. Told you exactly what you needed as far as tools. And who had the tools. I find, that if sears craftsman doesnt have it or snap-on, then check out e-bay...between the 3, you have a good idea of the cost.
The pictures are good, the hand written analysis of what you are about to undertake, and about how much time, is all factered in for you, with this manual.
To date, I have several manuals now. 1970 Ford F100, 1982 Kawasaki KZ175,
1980 Ford Fiesta, and the 1991 Plymouth Voyager mini van.
I would recommend this manual over anything the shop or the service technician is trying to sell you first. But, remember, when undertaking a particular job like refrigeration, do not leave that to the manual, read the book, so you have an understanding of the refrigeration problems, then have a professional service the a/c. Thsi is one job, leave it too the professionals in the garage.
There are some jobs, you can do with these manuals...but the more serious jobs- like heating and air-conditioning, leave to the professional...they have the proper equipment...and the expertise to service the equipment properly.
