        An Excellent Survival/Horror Video Game!
      Review created: 04/28/06(updated 04/28/06)

As a fan of other Survival/Horror video games, especially those made by Capcom, I was excited to see a new game in my favorite video game catagory, named Haunting Ground. I saw really nice, full page ads in my video game magazines, and decided this looked like a cool game. After having bought it, I loved it! The graphics are top notch, and really add to the creepy setting. There are parts that will scare you, and with the lights turned off will only add to that. The game is a bit on the short side, but the game does have an option for a second quest which will add more difficulty. There are lots of items and cut scenes to unlock, so playing for those will add more fun to an already fun game. This is also a great game for those who cannot stand too much blood and gore, as it is rarely even present. Overall, I would give it a solid 9 out of 10.

Haunting Ground. - Not so scary. More odd than scary.

      -----------------------Review------------------------------

I bought this game thinking it was going to be horror. No. I was wrong.

It has horror elements but --not-- the type of horror you're probably expecting. It felt more like a girl's worst nightmare.
It's more odd more than anything. The game has a massive man called Debilitas who looks like a hunchback who peeks on Fiona ( the main character) while she is dressing. And some strange guy trying to impregnate Fiona throughout the whole game. There is alot of uneasy sexuality in this game. Haunting ground is definitely not for everyone.

      -----------------Aspects of the game------------------
      1. Fiona is running away and hiding 90% of the time. Fiona has no weapons.
      2. You give commands to the dog in order to do paticular actions. The dog does alot of the attacking for you.
      3. Solving puzzles.

      ---------------Features of the game-----------------
      1. Fiona has a Panic meter and once that panic meter is full, she will panic and run, it will be harder to access special items and control her movements while running, you will have to keep her from triping.
2.During Fiona's panic attacks. You see the screen with washed-out colors, panic vision. Making the game suspenceful.
      3. Benefits of having Hewie the dog, is that he can sniff out or find clues. Hewie can also go into areas that Fiona can't go into and bring her special items she can't get or reach. You also will have to establish a good relationship with the dog in order to have it perform well.
      3. Very nice animation, graphics, sound.

      ---------------Story--------------------

Fiona is a typical girl who wakes up in a manor. She has no memory of how she got there but she only remembers that she was in a car crash and her parents are dead. She eventually finds a dog called Hewie who ends up being Fiona's protector throughout the whole game. They explore the manor encountering many different enemies. Ultimately, Fiona's goal is to figure out how she's going to escape the manor.

      --------------Advice-------------------

Haunting ground is an odd one. If you feel you would like this type of game go for it, but it's also a short game. But if you're looking for something to scare you.....
Save your money and buy Siren, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Kuon, or even Clocktower 3.
