Six Feet Under, composed of members of Cannibal Corpse and Obituary, offers a groove-laden, simplistic approach in this, their debut album. Barnes' vocals are throaty as ever and the lyrics are much more diverse in topic than albums of the members' previous. While songs describing overt violence are present, so are songs dealing with internal conflict, werewolves, supernatural occurences, and dealing with adversity. The guitar work is catchy but simple; anyone who's been playing for a few months should be able to learn the whole album, despite that, the album retains heaviness throughout. One of the better collaboration efforts ever produced.
