Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life -Special Edition- (PlayStation 2, 2005)

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life SE has got to be the best game I have ever come across to teach and learn about the values of life in all aspects. Everyone from ages 60 on down I know for a fact will love this game. It teaches the values of hard work, friendships, love and rewards. My whole family from 59 year old husband, 50 year old me and 25 - 26 year old children have never worked so hard in their loves to try to have something as we all have in this game. It teaches morals as well. Be kind to others, teaches the vaule of a dollar. It teaches responsibility for animals and family, friends and yourself as well. Teaches spending habits and investments. We have found that this game is one that we have even applied to our daily lives as well. Child raising, martial relationships, and the way life is in the real world. Even grandparents can relate to this because it is about life the way it use to be. Even to the end you have to deal with reality all the way. Every person ought to play this game and just see that life is hard work and in the end you truly reap what you sow!

We even started having a family night where my older children would just sit and watch other play and everyone would chip in and help the player out.

What crops to plants? When to plant them. Feeding and caring for animals. Buying and selling to the outside market. Fishing for food and profits. Raising and producing your own hard earned crops for family as well as sales. Even learning to cook what is good for you or not.

Perfect game for all ages and one of the safe ones for your children as well. I have to rate this as a number one game because it is life as it should and has been.

Expose your children and young & old adults to reality and bring back some true values in the games and life as well.

Here's my eldest daughter's opinion:::

Harvest Moon; A Wonderful Life is a very lovable game. The work and the decisions you must make really make you think. It's also adorable how you can cuddle your animals and play with your child. I also like the mini-games and other goals you get as you play longer.

I have some tips for anyone playing the game too;

*Make a daily schedule so you do not waste time and then regret it!
*Look at tips and guides off of different sites like gamespot.
*Make friends with the locals! They can give you great advice or even free stuff!
*Don't be a shopping freak and spend your money every time you get more. It really doesn't help when you need money right away.
*Make sure to buy animal medicine ahead of time.

This game is great for all ages!

this game gets a 3 because its only fun for about a week then it gets REALLY boring. the cow stops givin=bordom.

My son really wanted it. I looked in the stores we have around home and nobody had it. It was easy just to hope on ebay, rather than running around the cities for it.

I personally don't use this game but my granddaughter loves it.so i got it for her. I like the prices it is something i[on fixed income] can afford.

The service and sending time were great. The product was clean and unscratched with the original artwork like the seller had shown in the ad for the item

I have to say that this game is very addicting! And is fun for all ages!But while it is fun it is a good idea to take a break from it every now and again!In my opinion this game is kind of short! Like one of your main goals! In the past Harvest Moon games it took forever to get married! But in this game you can get married on the first day you start to play it! Which really takes some fun out of the game! But it still gives you that Harvest Moon feeling! Bottom line this game is really fun and is a good game for all ages ,but it's not a bad idea to take some time away from it!

I love the fact that it is an easy game to play especially for my youngest. I decided to buy it because I have Harvest Moon:Save The Homeland and I wanted to see what this one is like.

Now, let me be abundantly lucid about this: I LOVE the Harvest Moon franchise. However, come on: A cow that stops giving milk? You have to feed your animals twice a day? Time runs in the barn? Feeding your dog is necessary for its happiness? These are the sort of departures from the fundamentals of the original Harvest Moon that have really killed this game.

The game suffers from slow loading times (I'm normally very patient), and a lot of the gameplay and content seems to be very ambiguous and hard to figure out.

Look, it's a good game, no question. But it's NOTHING worth comparing the original (or even the N64 version) to.

Great game to intro my 6 yr old into reading and interacting a farming like simulation. She just finished mini ninjas on ps3 and wanted to do more reading. This harvest moon game is perfect, easy words to read, and the environments and play is simple enough for her to learn

I decided to buy it because it was yet another game to add to the Harvest Moon enterprise (I'm a bit of a fan). But, I only played it the day I got it and I was highly dissatisfied with it. The game was unbelievably bad and utterly boring. The system they had in place for farming crops and raising animals is totally different from how its been in the past and the game play is slow and horrible. I've never been so dissatisfied with any game I've anticipated so much and had such a let down after buying it. Be all and end all--I wouldn't recommend this game to ANYBODY at all. The changes they made weren't improvements and it's a shottily made game. The character designs SUCK, you can't run anywhere, you can only plant one crop at a time in a small area, the music SUCKS, and I don't even know nor care to figure out how animals are supposed to be raised. I wish it were closer to the Playstation or gameboy versions of the game. Really, to anyone whose loved the Harvest Moon Series (N64, PS1, gameboy, gameboy advance, DS, etc.) in the Past--DO NOT buy this one. It sucks.

This is the best next to the original Harvest Moon that was for PS1. This is the same theme, meaning you're working a farm and trying later to marry and such. Although when night comes its very hard to see the things around you which is kinda a down. That and the fact that the game has so many speaking parts and still no audio for speech, but that's all of the Harvest Moon games. I think that they need to upgrade like Final Fantasy X and X-2 did. Farming is alot hard too. There no organized way to get things like seeds in the same place.

I had this game when i was a kid and i loved it. when i found it on ebay i just had to have it. i started playing and remembered most of the things that were happening. then things started to happen that i didn't remember. and i was thrilled. there is nothing better than playing a game that you remember from your child hood and finding there is more to it than you remember.

I enjoyed "Save the Homeland" edition more. I was hoping this would be just the same, but with more perks, like getting married, having children and more interactions with the village. However, it's just not what I expected. Game time is slow (not such a big deal) and the interactions are not as cool as the description explains. I feel that Save the Homeland had better side games as well. this one has many, but they are mediocre compared to the other one I played. On the othre hand, I haven;t played every Harvest Moon game that has come out, and I may have not played it correctly.

My little girl just love the annie movies.how she has all three.and she watches them all the time so to get a other was great now she has the new and the old.and they are both different.

My kids love playing this game. They play it everyday. It's hard to get them to stop. They take care of the farm animals, play vegtables and interact with the town folk. Great game.

This game is fantastic! It's great for all ages and it teaches you responsibility with in the game. You get to care for your animals, make friends with the towns people, find love and raise a child. If you like the Sims you'll like this game. Except this game is more of the country life style then the city compaired to the Sims.
