I have literally played EVERY Harvest Moon video game ever made.
And I have LOVED them all. Until, that is, Island of Happiness came out
for the Ninetendo DS.
I hurried out and purchased it the very same day it went on sale in the stores, rushed home, and eagerly opened the game to start playing.
What a MAJOR disappointment. It was so bad, that I will not waste another second of time on that game which is hard for me to say. Ninendo and the makers of Harvest Moon Island of Happiness really took steps backwards in development and game play with this newest version of my favorite video game series ever.
Everything is controled by your stylus pen making gameplay tedious, tiresome, and not very comfortable. DS users having played the previous versions of Harvest Moon were used to being able to control your characters actions and movements with the directional buttons. But with this new version you do not have that option and it made the game play very unenjoyable for me.
I spent 2 hours trying to learn to love this game. Instead, I am horribly disappointed and will be placing my game and strategy game up for sale real soon as I am not wasting any more time playing a game that is definately the worst Harvest Moon ever!

I have played previous Harvest Moon games and figured this one would jsut be another. I love this game more than the others! You're job is to help an abandoned island grow. You can play as a boy or girl, and there are eligible bachelors or bachelorettes if you choose to marry & have children.
Your job is still to have a farm, upgrade your farm, but you also need to help upgrade the village. There are crops and animals and cooking. Plus areas you need to unlock. You should give it a try & it makes a great gift!

I bought the game for my son and he really enjoys it. It is one of those games that is simple and fun to play, classic Nintendo. If you are a Nintendo type of person you will enjoy this game.

I reccomend the guide for insite in this game! this not a little kids game its not graphic its complex a lot to do to compleet this game get the guide!
I love games like this its hours of fun.
you are a rancher taking care of an abandon island as you work your but off improving roads and bridges,growing crops tending livestock people slowly move to the island. you can get married and work in a mine too...fun fun!
drawback you have to use the styles way to much.It would have been better to use the d-pad to walk around!

I'm 55 years old and have a hard time putting it away. It's a lot of fun. I highly recommend it to all ages. I decided to buy it because I watched my daughter playing it. I have since bought the Harvest Mood for the Wii. My family's not so happy with me, I monopolize the T.V., or I'm on the DS.

Excellent Game!This game was an excellent addition to my nintendo game library. The game is a nice step up from Animal Crossing, and I recommend it to any Animal Crossing players. This game takes place on an uninhabited island and your job is to revitalize it. The game also includes charming features like owning a pet and even getting married. This Game gets four stars out of five.
