Of all the books in the series, I liked the Prisoner of Azkaban the most. This I would say that this is the last of the Harry Potter books that I consider as a chidren's book - the rest, is more geared to young adults (and even older adults).
Here we're introduced to the creepy dementors from Azkaban that are searching for Sirius Black, the wizard responsible for the death of Harry’s parents. We’re also introduced to Professor Lupin, the new defense against the dark arts teacher – who also has a dark secret himself . He helps Harry overcome his fear of the dementors and teaches him a new spell, making him discover a new ability that he’s good at.
The story gets better in the third installment of the series as Harry discovers new allies and friends. This book also has nice twists and revelations and definitely a page turner as all the other books. If you weren’t much of a fan after reading the first and second books, this will probably the book that’ll get you hooked on Harry Potter.
J.K. Rowling conitinues in her sotry of Harry Potter as he faces new challenges and obstacles that he must overcome in his third year at Hogwarts. The book is enjoyable for children and adult alike. The plot of the story sucks the reader in and the characters are very likable. Overall good read.
The book is just fine, I made my own error in not mentioning that I was looking for UK publisher and this is scholastic , however I have 2 sets of books, this works.
After I won the item was immediately contacted and notified that the item was shipped. I was told the package was shipped Saturday and I got the book on Monday in the mail. Very friendly and easy to get in contact with. Would recommend buying from her!
I was happy with what I got. I've read the book before, so no surprises, but I'm glad to have it. The condition was just as promised and it was a great price for the book, too.
Yet another great installment in the HP Series. This book tells about Lily and James Potter pre Harry and pre marriage. It shows the friendships they made at Hogwarts and how even your friends can betray you. We are introduced to Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew who were James Potter's best friends and completed the "Mauraders". It gives a bit more insight into what happened the night the Potters were attacked by Voldemort, or does it? We also meet yet another Magical Creature in Buckbeak Hagrid's newest crittur that can be your best friend or worst enemy.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third book in the Harry Potter series that was written by JK Rowling. It was released in September of 1999 in Canada.
This book is by far an interesting book. The first two books of the series were happy books with a good start, tension and ending. The main characters plod along and solve the problems that occur.
However, in this book the start of something happens. The story is continued through the books with a bit of a darker light occuring.
The book introduces the tension of the escaped convict, Serious Black. You are also introduced to the Dementors and learn about Dumbledore's mistrust of them. You get to learn about the Maurader's map and a number of key characters that will be reoccurring through the entire series.
You also get to see the strength of Harry as he learns to summon a Patronous. :)
This is a great book. It has the youthful innocence of the first two books but it also sets up the darker tone for the rest of the series.
It was the second to last book of the series I did not have, and of which this one is one of the most breathtakingly quick and intelligent in its design that it allows to you have hints of what is really going on while you are cheering for another side!! Amazing!
The book was great I read it as soon as I got it. Loved to read books and see how they differ from the movie, sometimes the book is better sometimes the movie. Loved both the book and the movie. Love having the complete set of the Harry Potter books, thanks for the great deal and a book that was in great condition.
As with any Harry Potter book, the books is much funnier, entertaining, and a wilder adventure then the movies.
So if you haven't already please take the time and read each book after you have seen the movie. That way you can still enjoy all the surprises and twist and turns that the movie has with out being perturbed over what was left out from J.K.'s telling of the story.
Examples: There is more about Serious Black in the book then in the movie. There is also much more about Harry's father, Black, and Peter (and others). I feel that more should have been in the movie about the map, I feel the movie left out some important things.
Excellent condition of the book. Item received packed correctly and was delivered on time. I would certainly recommend this seller for future business without any reservation. Thanks
I have been looking for this specific book with these options. There were a few out there, but they always sold for more than I wanted to pay. I guess I was lucky to have time and patience on my side. I was able to keep plugging along and find the perfect gift for the perfect price. It is actually a fun process watching an item and winning or losing. As I mentioned, if you have the luxury of time, you don't mind losing, you just try again later. If you are forced to buy now, then you are committed to paying top dollar to obtain your desired item. Either way, you get what you want.
2 weeks ago I dediced I HAVE to read all the Harry Potter Books. I've seen all the movies (Except for the Prisoner of Azkaban) and they are all very fun to watch. HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite out of her first 3 books. I couldn't put the book down, it took me only a day to read it all. The excellent wording that JK Rowling uses makes the reader feel like there actually there.
The item I purchased was shipped very fast. Also, the seller must know that books that are in good condition may not be that way once it arrives at the buyers house, this was what I appreciated most; packaged beyond my expectations. I've ordered books through the mail numerous times and this was probably the best condition (excellent) I have received one.
