Well, to those would-be spoilers, thanks for TRYING to ruin it for everyone. I doubt anyone will believe that you've actually READ the book everyone's waiting for.

Some people have no desire to hear theories or potential spoilers about book 7, and shame on you for trying to throw them out there where people might read them when they don't want to. There is a proper place for such discussion - like the ebook about Deathly Hallows that I am selling.

One thing is for certain, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is going to be amazing, action-packed, and heart-breaking all at the same time. I can't wait - mine's already pre-ordered, is yours?

  Best Harry Potter Yet!!!!
Review created: 10/02/08

This was the best book yet. I love the Harry Potter sets. They leave you on the edge of your seat wondering how they will get out of the next pickle they get into. She does a fantastic writing job. It took me 3 days to read the book. (if I hadn't had a time frame to stick with I would have read all 796 pgs in one night) I cried (not as much as I did in Half blood prince that one was really sad), I laughed out loud (kids thought I was crazy) and I got worried with whether or not Harry would make it out of the last battle. I think this series is a must read for anyone of age. I don't recommend for littler kids, to much death to try and explain. However, when my kids turn of age, I will most surely pass them on to my boys. Even thou the movies will be out, theres so much more in the books. I hope she will write more books. I enjoyed them tremendously. I can't wait to see it in the movie theaters. Bloody hell it was a GREAT READ. Action, love, loss and victory all in one book.

I found this book to be the perfect culmination to the whole series. The pinnacle of the J K Rowling style and something that you won't be able to put down. The chapter art showcase is a great bonus!

  Book Review
Review created: 09/02/07

I didn't receive the book purchased from the seller. The publisher or book wholesaler was unable to fulfill their order so the seller was unable to send the book. I don't blame the seller, but the publisher or book wholesaler should be held responsible.

Having not received the book, I don't think I will be able to review it for ebay. I would not have rated it but you wouldn't let me off this page until I did.

Bud

Get the British or American edition?
Review created: 08/09/07

If you want every First printing of Rowling's history-making series, there are four versions of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows you will want to acquire (not to mention one copy of the 1,700 UK copies she personally and truly signed in London on July 21 if you were connected well enough to get an admission ticket!).

Generally, I feel that the books and dustjackets from British publishers are made better and display a superior artistic design.

I have to say, though, that the American Deluxe edition in a slipcase with the exclusive dustjacket artwork by Mary GrandPre showing Harry, Hermione, and Ron perched atop the flying dragon is superior to the UK Deluxe edition (in my opinion). A Silver ribbon bookmark sewn into the spine is a nice feature [from Bloomsbury in London] but the quality and quanity of GrandPre's color and black and white drawings for the USA edition enhance the text to the point of being a storyboard for the future film based on Deathly Hallows. I have not read one HP book by J.K. Rowling! However, I do love it when words and images are brought together in a superb manner. (I spent my summers (during the 1960s) devouring comic books.)

So, everyone in the United Kingdom, you are now encouraged to acquire the American Deluxe edition!!!

As only 100,000 copies were produced for the Frist printing, this edition is, de facto, a Limited Edition too.

By the way, if you got a copy of the Deluxe edition, wrap it in unbleached muslin and store it in a drawer. Whatever you do, Don't read it! The spine will get cracked!

Cheers, Linda.

  Best of the Best

I don't think I ever waited on Christmas like I did for this book and Rowling did not disappoint me.

Deathly Hollows picks up right where The Half Blood Prince left off and Rowling doesn't miss a beat.

Our three favorite heroes know what they have to do but only have a few obscure clues to work from. They must find their own solutions on how to accomplish their misson. While this is a theme common in the other 6 books, this time there is no safety net provided by the adults. The fate of the world rests on their shoulders alone.

As they go from one adventure to the next, gaining (at first) seemingly useless information and narrowly avoiding death, they slowly piece together how everything must fit together. Even then Rowling is not yet done: the solution itself is a test, and the hardest challenge Harry ever had to take.

The book is dark and bloody, more so than The Order of the Pheonix. In case the reader had any doubt about that, Voldermort sets it straight in the very first chapter. The body count continues to go up and Rowling gives no indication of playing favorites. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is safe until the last spell is cast, somewhere in the last 10 pages or so.

While it was sad seeing so many characters I had grown attached to die, I did not have the same sense of dispair that I did with Pheonix. I never doubted for one page that good would win in the end and I could take comfort in that their sacrafices would not be in vain.

While I sincerly hope that Ms. Rowling will continue to write, I believe it is time for a new series. Harry Potter was as close to perfection as I'm likely to see in this world. I don't want that delicate balance upset.
