Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (DVD, 2003, Widescreen; 2-Disc Set)

I love the Harry Potter book series, and the movies are wonderful! Of course, it couldn't be completely true to the book without being four hours long, but it got close! The acting was great, and many of the characters were exactly as I imagined them! From Hermione's slightly superior tone, to Ron's hiliarious facial expressions, to beautiful Hogwarts, the movies are some of the best book adaptations I've seen!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second DVD installment in the Harry Potter movie adaptations.

This DVD is a great adaptation of the books. You cannot have everything that is in the books transfer to a movie, but it is a very good adaptation. You follow Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they travel back to Hogwarts for their second year.

The introduction of the house elf Dobby creates a number of unique issues and problems that Harry, and sometimes Ron, must overcome. All in the name of trying to save Harry! A great character is born!

Overall the movie continues to live true to the vision that the books have embarked on without loosing major parts of the story!

A must own DVD for your library!

This is close to the book and great fun to watch! In this movie he has his first encounter with "he who must not be named". He also starts to feel at home at Hogwarts, and discovers even more about himself. The first 2 movies are more exploratory, and he learns alot about himself, his friends, his family, his enemies, and home.


Deffinatly buy! Buy the movies, books, all of it but stay away from the rotten egg flavored- berti bots every flavor beans, they are not as pleasent.

What is so great about the harry potter films is that they grow with your child, they become more intellectually stimulating and more emotionally involved. This film is definately is fun and enjoyable for virtually all children 6 and up. as the second film in the series you sould watch the first movie first for background, and rest assured all the subsequent films will leave you wanting more as well. As this film is a bit scaryier than the first, with a giant spider, but Your 6+ year old should be very much glued to the tv threwout... heck you'll be glued to the tv!!

It is obvious when you watch this, any any other Harry Potter movie for that matter, that it was well planned during the planning stages. The script is very close to the book, with only minor changes to speed along the story smoothly.

Harry Potter always comes across a dilemma that strengthens his resolve to always choose the right and be a kind person. He is polite and respectful of her elders which is hardly ever seen in todays childrens movies.

The special effects were believeable and entertaining.

This is a great movie. Enjoyable for the entire family. I bought this because I've seen all the movies in the theater and fell in love. I had to have them, and getting them at Ebay prices just made it even better.

I had never seen a Harry Potter movie before and didn't think I would like them, but I am hooked! Great adventures and suspense.

It is as good as the rest of the Harry Potter movies that all my children (ages 10, 7, and 2) love. Like all of the other films, it emphasizes friendship and love as key factors. The character of Hermoine Granger is an intelligent 12 year old girl and that is not something you see in movies enough.

Because of the children in my life, the beginnings of the Harry Potter saga came to my attention through J.K. Rowling's books in 1999. As soon as the movies came to the theater, we were at the movies multiple times to see them then purchased them once they were available on DVD. This current purchase, (along with another HP DVD), is actually a replacement. The movie adaptation of this book is ok for most 9/10 year olds and up, as they do become darker with each successive installment. As many adults, I have come to love the movies and the books myself. I chose to purchase my newest copy on eBay as the price was very good and the condition of the disc and packaging was as well.

This is the second movie adaption of the book series by J.K Rowling. Harry, Ron and Hermione start their second year at Hogwarts, but for some reason Harry keeps hearing voices in the wall that only he can hear! This is a great movie, and has some funny parts in it! Good movie for kids and adults alike! (Although younger kids might be frightened so be aware of that.)

We loved the books. We loved the movies too. We decided to aquire the entire set via e-bay to save money. These dvd's are still over 12 dollars at retailers so seaching and finding them on e-bay really saved us a lot of money. The dvd is very entertaining and great for boring nights on tv. When there's nothing good on it's always a pleasure to watch Harry Potter instead of re-runs and commercials.

This is an excellent movie. I love the action, the adventure and everything that you find in the Harry Potter series of books and movies. I recommend purchasing this movie because its excellent.

i bought this to complete a set for my husbands birtday. It was in good condition though i had failed to see that it was goin to be in a clear case before i bought it

there is no way i would every buy from them again they don't anwser emails i wrote 3 times and no response they said they would mail it in 3 days after payn and it took over a week 4 them to mail so u can say that is the last time i will buy from this person but item was nice ty

Prepare yourself for a darker fantasy this time with some harrowing and scary special effects. Apparently J.K. Rowling has hit upon the fact that kids love to be scared stiff along with being entertained by touches of humor and excitement--although I think her imagination works overtime on scenes like the vomiting fit for Ron, one of the more tasteless sequences.

And apparently the makers of this Potter film have met the challenge of providing spiders and snakes that are hideous enough to have Ron and the audience in a fit of hysterics. It's all here--the main events anyway of the Rowling book--and for extra measure they've given a much needed humorous role to Kenneth Branagh who has great fun with his role as the self-loving Gilderoy Lockhart. The only real drawback is that Maggie Smith has very little to do--but the main chores belong to Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint who continue to charm as the three leads. Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy has a commanding presence and an amusingly wicked final scene involving the computer created Dobby who steals every scene he's in.

Should keep Potter fans happy--and for a movie two-and-a-half hours long it moves along at a brisk pace from one adventure to another with what by now appears to be mechanical skill, thanks to artful direction by Chris Columbus who knows how to keep this sort of thing moving. John Williams' perky score is a distinct help.

My brother is a big fan of harry potter so I bought this dvd for him for his birthday. I really liked the price of it I thought it was very affordable and in really good condition!!
