I love this series. This audiobook is awesome while driving. This is a great book and the second in the Harry Potter series. We continue to learn more and more about the magical world. Full of surprises. These books are so hard to put down before the end of the story!

  Enhance Harry Potter Knowledge
Review created: 05/29/08

This has added a new dimmension to the books. They have facts that are not covered in the book. Any Harry Potter fan would love it, these add to the experience. I bought becuase I had received some other books on tape and enjoyed them.

Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets
Review created: 05/14/08

I saw the movie, read the book, and wanted to listen to the audio, so I bought this product. I drive long distances frequently, so this really fills the long hours on the road. It was a good price, and I could enjoy the characters I've come to know so well in adventures I'd watched on the big screen.

This audio of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is great to have when we travel. I will be able to play this audio and see how my sons interpet what they heard. It is interesting to hear what they think is happening. The boys are 5 and 7 years of age.

I bought all of the Harry Potter tapes for my Grand Daughter to listen to and found them so interesting that I listen to them on my way to work and back. Can hardly wait to get back in my car to continue. Looking for more books as good as these.

Great price and shipped in good time.
Review created: 09/02/07

With all the rage for the harry potter series I wanted to read the entire series from start to finish. I am currently in Iraq and so getting good copies is a bit difficult. I really liked the price, and the fact that the shipper was willing to mail to an APO address, they are actually a U.S. address and that kept the postage down. It was a bit of a let down that the shipping and handling cost more that the book it self but it was not so much that I was willing to give up on the product. the book was in great condition and got to me in great time. Thank you.

  Voldemort Strikes Again
Review created: 08/22/07

In the second book of the series, Harry eagerly returns to Hogwarts and his friends. But the school is shocked as cats, students and ghosts become petrified. Teachers nervously explain to their students how similar attacks happened years ago. The attacks back then ended when Hagrid was forced to part with his familiar, a giant spider, and was forbidden to ever use magic again. Unfortunately, a student died before Hagrid was brought to "justice". If a student dies this time, the school will certainly close.

When Ginny, Ron's sister, comes up missing, the Ministry finally acts and takes Hagrid to Azkaban Prison. Ron, Hermione and Harry don't believe it is him, and they set off to clear his name and rescue Jinny before it is too late.

I believe anyone who enjoyed The Sorcerer's Stone will also enjoy Chamber of Secrets and for the same reasons. The only thing that changed is the mystery that has to be solved. It is otherwise the same people doing the same things in the same setting. I don't fault Rowling for this. Hogwarts is an overwhelming place, there are lots of secrets that are yet to be revealed even now that the seventh book is complete. To leave the school grounds during the second book would have certainly given the reader a sense of missing something. The same could be said for the characters. They were so charming and fresh that the reader won't grow tired of them after only two books. The time for them to grow up comes all too quickly.

This is the first time JK really begins to prepare the reader for the mega plot that is the whole series. She introduces items and themes that will grow in importance later on. Some of them include learning to rely on themselves instead of adults (thanks to the vain Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher), the introduction of a horcrux (the diary of Tom Riddle), the Womping Willow, Aragog the Giant Spider and the Ministry's habit of trying to look like they are doing something instead of actually doing anything (arresting Hagrid on circumstantial evidence). All these and more will have special meaning in later books, but for right now they do just fine as part of the stand alone story.

The Chamber of Secrets is a true stand-alone story. A reader can enjoy it without reading any other book in the series. I think JK Rowling's greatest genius is shown by being able to introduce items that are interesting enough in their original context, yet have even greater significance later on.

I love listening to books on tape. It saves me the time of sitting down and reading, so I can do something else at the same time. I also love listening to books on tape when I am on a roadtrip.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Audiobook
Review created: 08/02/06

My son has read all of the Harry Potter books and as a family we have seen all of the movies but I realize how much I miss out on if I do not read the books. I enjoy to listed to audiobooks while cooking, cleaning and doing chores around the house but in the summer I need to listen to age appropriate materials for my two young sons. Even though my oldest son has read all of the books he still enjoys to listen to the audiobooks. Not only does the cooking and housework seem to get completed faster but the children play quietly together and enjoy listening as well! We have much less arguing since they are too busy listening. I am able to supplement the movies by listening to the entire book and gain a fuller understanding of the story. I enjoy the Harry Potter series and am glad that it is also family friendly.

  Harry Potter novels are great.

Harry Potter novels are great reading material for children. I have heard many people that are leary about the 'witchcraft' portion, but there is no serious witchcraft in any of the novels. It is pure fantasy that is good for a child's imagination. Really, what is more fun than playing a ball game on a broomstick? Any book that can hold a 5th grader's attention through 700 pages must have some special qualities. Highly reccommend.
