Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling (2001, Paperback, Reissue)

Anyone who enjoyed the first two Harry Potter books should also like Prisoner of Azkaban. It has an excellent plot with lots of fascinating new creatures and characters. The pacing is very good--fast moving but never confusing. Like most of the Harry Potter books, nothing is really as it seems and the ending twists in a completely unexpected way. There's lots of humor too.

The only thing I didn't like (which annoys me in all the Harry Potter books save the first) is that the descriptions of characters are repeated and events from the first two books summarized again when they come up. There are many continuing plot and character threads from the first two books, and the Harry Potter series is clearly intended to be read in order from beginning to end, so I really don't feel this repetition is necessary (it's easy to skip over, though). Speaking of the fact it's a series, don't buy this book if you haven't read the first two.

The book was one that I will want in my future classroom because it is popular and a fun read for students. The transaction was was quick, easy, and reasonably priced.

I have been reading the Harry Potter series and got so involved in it that I decided that I needed to have them all in my collection. A friend mentioned that she had gotten some nice books off of ebay so I decided to check it out and this was a very good deal compared to some of the others.

Book is amazing, though through technical difficulties, shipping took a while. I ended up just buying it from Borders.

I own the hard cover set for myself, but I got my neice into the books and decided to buy her the paperback versions to start. The are easy to tote around and if the get slightly damaged are easier to replace. The POA is the best book in the Happy Potter Series (followed by the OOP). =)

All of my friends have read Harry Potter and they kept telling me to read it. I never had the time and motivation to read though. So one day I decided that I would buy the first Harry Potter book and I finished it in 2 weeks (and I am a slow reader). I just couldn't put the book down. So I right away bought the second and then the third book. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is definately my favorite book. It's a must read. You get so into it and you can't put it down. I love it!

Book got here (Oklahoma) very quickly. The book was exaxctly as the seller had described to. It is the perfect thing at add to my collection.

This is an excellent book, just like all the other books in the series. INcredibly creative and entertaining.

Thank you for the book. My son is 11 years old. The Harry Potter movies has him interested in reading all the books. His classmates just got through reading The Chamber of Secrets. He was really excited about starting The Prisoner of Azcaban. The book was in very good condition. I ended up buying each book in the series seperately, because the set was so expensive.
