The written form of this series are great and we congratulate the writer for getting kids excited to read a big heavy book, and that she dared to get the storytelling and adventure back into the hands of young readers. We do recommend this series for ages 8 and up because it really gets darker as the series grows and is not appropriate for wee-ones who are just thrilled with the idea of magic.

The voice of the actor who reads the audio versions of this series stays true throughout the entire series and he is a master storyteller. The Harry Potter series is a cultural icon and really should be added to everyone’s read list but many adults have a tough time carving out enough time to pick up all the nuances of this craze. SPEND THE MONEY and get the audio series, you will not regret it. If you are a professional with loads of time on a plane or in the car buy the set new because the CD’s scratch so easily and you can always re-sell them at a fair price.
