Harsh Eloquence
Most people consider Kern's work utter trash, they look at the mere face value and I would dare venture from the refines of comfort. This is the unnerved eye of Richard Kern and his body of work, it is a an exploitation of his locale and his juxtaposed feelings on youth and culture. It is definitely not a film for just anyone, and the more centrally located you are in the bible belt the more offensive these films will be. I on the other hand see the beauty of these films and the true shock one gets when you first see them. And further more if Andy Warhol is given the title of pop art visionary then Richard Kern can handle the same yoke.
