Happy Feet (CD, Oct-2006, Atlantic USA)

My daughter and I went to the movie and were so struck by the POWERFUL music that I went out and immediately bought the soundtrack. Where are all those songs the penguins sang? And what about those great mixes? When are these movie folks going to realize that we don't want to hear singers performing songs that were not in the movie--I don't care who they are. We want to hear the same people who sang in the movie, singing on the soundtrack. This makes no sense to me and made even less sense to my 4 year old daughter, who was hugely disappointed with the bulk of the songs on the cd.

We wanted to hear more of the penguin songs and less of the background songs that no one cares about (i.e. "Beach Boys"). If I wanted to hear the Beach Boys, I'd go out and buy their cd. Put something on the soundtrack cd that we can't get anywhere else and forget that old stuff we can get any time we want to.

"Boogie Wonderland," "Somebody to Love" and "Kiss/Heartbreak Hotel" are the only truly awesome songs with actual "Penguin" voices that you will hear on this soundtrack--although "Kiss/Heartbreak" had a much better mix on screen. There is one Robin Williams song, but it was much better in the movie too.

Except for "Boogie Wonderland" (which ends abruptly) you miss out on the great STOMP, tap and mix effects that were so overpowering in the movie.

Let's hope they put a lot more of the original stuff on 2nd soundtrack coming out and get it right.

I wanted to buy this CD because I loved the movie and the music played in the movie. I knew it had a lot of big named singers like Prince and Pink whom I listen to. I really like that the music is so upbeat and makes you feel good. When listening to the CD it reminds you of the movie and you can picture scenes from the movie in your head. I really wish there was more dialoge from the movie included in the music. I really wanted to hear more of Robin Williams.
But overall the CD is great and can put you into a positive, feel good mood.

reasonalbe price much better than stove price. plays just as well as if it were bought from the store. shipping was a little slow but it came within limits and its in great condition just like new as described

My little girl loves penguins and the movie, Happy Feet. She would watch Happy Feet just so she could sing along with all the great songs. I had no idea that there was a cd made with all the songs from the movie. She flipped!!! She has listened to her new cd everyday since she got it. I love that!! Now, she can go into her room and listen to it on her cd player. Now, my dvd player will last me much longer then the last 3, because she is not looping all the songs.

I love the movie and all the music involved....so I assumed the cd would be the exact same music. The cd's music slightly varies but I decided to buy it because I was unable to find it anywhere in stores. I like it because it is fun for the kids and as adults, my husband and I both enjoy it as well.

My 3yr. old granddaughter and I saw this movie together and we loved the music. I purchased this CD as I play it in the car and we sing together. When she is visiting our home we play it and sing and dance and be silly together. It's priceless fun we have together. I recommend this for children for singing and dancing.

I love this soundtrack! I listen to it constantly. Very upbeat, music with lots of good songs. Great buy!

This is an awesome mix of songs from the beloved "Happy Feet" movie. So easy to dance to for any age.

I bought it because I loved 2 of the songs from it but found I liked the whole CD.

Nothing to dislike.

This is a great cd to listen to. You just want to start tapping your feet and dancing!! There is a lot of new music mixed with some of the best oldies that make this such an awesome cd. I highly recommend it!!

The movie was sweet but the music will make u have happy feet

we took our children to see the movie and we all really enjoyed it. My daugnter saw the CD on ebay and it was ceaper to purcahse the CD from Ebay than to buy it from the Music store.
We were very happy with the Cd and the quality of sound. My daughter plays her CD all the time and wont let any one borrow it.

I liked the music from the movie, so I bought the CD. I got it as a gift for my niece who went to the movie with me.
