The Happening (Blu-ray Disc, 2008, Checkpoint; Sensormatic; Widescreen)

Not worth it for Bluray, no extra ordinary effects. Ok movie, not up to Wahlbergs usual action flicks.

That is the 91 minutes of your life you waisted watching this movie. Wahlberg appears to be reading a teleprompter to kids in romper room. Horrible movie with more holes in the plot than swiss cheese.

Horible, not worth the plastic its printed on. Dont wast your money on this blu ray a big disapointment, The flowers are going to make us kill ourselves, come on and the ending was worse than the movie itself. Take it from me, not a good movie, buy a cheap comedy instead at least youll get your monneys worth.

M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, The Village, Lady in the Water and more) has done it again with The Happening.

Mark Wahlberg (The Departed, Invincible) Plays Elliot a science teacher in Philadelphia. Elliot hears of an attack on New York and along with his wife played by Zooey Deschanel and some of his friends they make plans to 'get out of dodge.'

The story progresses as Elliot and his party learn more and more of what is really going and as they try to avoid it. This all builds up to a very stunning and strange ending to a great movie.

This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout and will definitely entertain anyone who loves a great sci-fi/horror movie.

Rated a 5 of 5 for a great story line and great acting.

I liked this movie... it has an excellent creep factor. Although I mus admit that the ending was a little weird ... but kinda of a cool little concept.
I like how in the whole movie it has you guessing. Again I bought this movie because I like the creep factor and its eerie! I would recommend watching it but don't expect a huge climactic ending...

It was a pretty good movie.. Not the best I have seen from Mark Whalberg, but still a good one.. The overall plot of the movie is pretty easy to follow and the film seems that it could have been shot by an amatuer...

This movie was terrible. It is supposed to be a warning to look after our planet or it will kill us as we are now killing them.

The dialogue was terrible and the acting of all involved was crappy as well. I was expecting more from Mark Wahlberg, than his almost robotic performance of the hero.

Do not buy, or rent this movie. I wasted my money on this.

Another good M. Night Shyamalan flick, very cool concept. The acting is good and overall plot is good.

Many people I know did not care for this movie, "Plants killing people, come on!" But honestly every horror movie I have seen, the protagonist really has no good explanation for why they killing people! I thought The Happening was great and it did make alot of sense, it was suspenseful and thrilling!

The concept behind “The Happening” is absolutely terrifying.

The story begins one morning in New York’s Central Park. People walking through the park become disoriented, lost in thought, repeating things they have just said & taking steps backwards. Then, they start killing themselves by any means available to them. Authorities are at a loss to explain the events, but terrorism is not ruled out. When a similar attack hits Philadelphia, high school science teacher Eliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg) and his semi-estranged wife Alma (Zooey Deschanel) – along with Eliot’s friend Julian (John Leguizamo) and his daughter Jess (Ashlyn Sanchez) – board a train for western Pennsylvania. The train stops abruptly in a small town because the conductors have lost contact with “everyone,” leading them to think their final destination has also come under attack. Elliot meets a man who owns a nursery, who suspects that the attacks are not terrorists but nature itself turning on man. Stuck in rural Pennsylvania, Elliot puts his science smarts to the test to stay one step ahead of nature, which is all around him.

This movie was good, keeps you entertained and may put some thoughts into your head even after the movie has ended,would recommend to rent and to buy to anyone who is a big fan of M. Keeps you watching but like his last movie wondering where he is going with this. The acting was good and the effects fair.

This movie is absolutely terrifying. If you're a person like me, you'll be recycling before the movie is over and buying a gas mask just in case! Christmas will never be the SAME!!!! DUH DUH DUMMMM!

i luve shamilans movies. but this 1 was a lil over the top with the acting lol, i dont know why, but it kind of messed up the movie for me. but as far as the story is conserened, it was good.
