Halo UV-ST Upright Cleaner

Check to make sure the brand is not HALO is you think you are buying an oreck. The quality was poor. After the first time useing it the beater bar stopped working.

So far, my purchases on Ebay have been flawless and I'm very pleased with the items I purchased. It is to bad that a great vacuum has so much wrong with it i have had to buy 3 to ge parts as they do not sell the parts and the same thing has happend to all of them. this should have been a 5 star vac with its UV (excellent) but it is a 2 star poor working parts and no parts for sale, to bad Angel

this one sucks, buyer please be aware. the new halo which cover by warranty has different tag ...this one is the old model, they dont make them anymore. you should be able to get this one within 90 bucks

The vacuum was advertised wrong. It stated that it was built by Oreck and it was not. Also, the seller failed to mention that the company that built the vacuum was out of business so there is no warranty on it. I am stuck with a dead vacuum and no warranty!

I decided to buy it because if Oreck decided to add it to their product line, well that means it meets and exceeds my expectations. I love this vacuum, because you can use it with or without the beater brushes, with or without the UV light AND has built in hose attachment, very important when doing a complete vacuum, you don't need to get another to do the edges, ledges or air returns! There is fingertip control for the UV light and beater brushes, so first I vacuum an area with the beater brush turn it off and then push the UV light (it stays on for as long as you depress the button) so you have absolute control and no danger to damaging your carpet. Also, when doing linoleum or wood floors, you wouldn't want to use the UV light or the beater brushes, so again you have control of what you want and when! Bags are a little expensive, but sometimes you gotta pay for what you get, however, the cost of this vacuum is so cheap but the value is that of a $350 vacuum and for those mechanically interested, there are two motors, one for suction and one for beater brush, so you are not taxing either of the motors. There is direct drive to the rotating brush therefore alleviating the need for a belt. The vacuum is a little on the heavy side, but if you take care to set the height of the brushes, it definitely is easier to push. Over all, EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY!!

It is heavier than my Oreck XL, but easier to push and pull, plus I feel the floor is cleaner even if it is not. So far I love it. The bags look like a great plus to. Thank you for the good price!!!!

The Hallo Vacumn

I have 5 dogs and they track in all kinds of dirt particles on there paws, I had the litter of pups in my home as well, so the puppy toilet training mistakes, even though we used many types of cleaners, we were never sure if I was able to rid my carpets of the urine. When I saw the vacmn on E bay the thing that attracted me the most was that it would rid the carpets of baceria as well as dust mites and show up under the ultr violet lights any urine remains. I also shop in Costco and saw the ultra violet wand and considered it as well. Then I decided to get the vacumn, in this way I would be able to not only disinfect the carpet but also clean up whatever debris was left behind. I feel this is a great product and I am enjoying the idea of clean fresh carpets.

Cleaner appears to be built well with a few flaws which are major. The dust bag leaks white dust all over the cleaner and into the compartment that the bag goes into. The belt slips off of the serrated gear because the gear is too narrow and not in line with gear on the roller brush. What mechanical engineer figured that this would work? Without the brush turning, you can forget about it picking up anything off of a carpet.

looking for a new vacuum, thought that since Orek sells them now it would have a lot of power, could not find amp rating on Orek or halo web site, it is very loud with a high pitch whine; it is just okay on floor but trying to use attachment hose it has very little suction, on the good side you can turn off the brush roll and the the UV light to kill germs is a nice feature, wish would have waitied for a Simplicity or a Riccar

BLUE LIGHT KILLS DUST MITES, FLEAS, GERMS. VERY IMPORTANT--VACUUM AS USUAL THEN TURN ON BLUE LIGHT TO KILL THE ITEMS. PRICE WAS RIGHT. JUST WISH THE BAG WAS BIGGER & ATTACHMENTS

Great deal and a Very nive vacuum. I saw this same mavhine with the Oreck lable for $599.99.it works fantastic.

I was sold the Idea of powerful and got something made in china and not very powerful as they claim. Handle didn't fit and I had to drill a hole and put an screw on the handle to hold it. Over all not very happy. O well

My Halo worked for less than 30 days. The company is out of business and replacement parts are unavailable. Halo technology was sold to Oreck but it is not an Oreck vacuum.

Don't be fooled by several unscrupulous ebay sellers pretending that they are selling an Oreck when they are really selling a piece of junk.

Love the lightweight quality. Needed a good vaccuum and now I have one! The UV light has made a huge difference. It is a a bit of a pain trying to keep the light on. It is a great vaccuum for the price and the fact that it is also from Oreck makes it a steal.

the dealings with dealmongers was excelent , great communication , price and after sale comment. the vac is good and the only reason that I gave it good instead of excellent if the noise of the unit ( very load wine from motor) It pickes up cat hair ect with no problem and the UV option has lowered the dusting I have had to do. Over all it was a very good value and I am glad I have it.

I love the idea of a vacuum that will kill bacteria in my carpet. It has great suction but it is very very loud! I have to wear my ipod while vacuuming or ear plugs.
