  Highly awaited Game-Will Not Disappoint

As most people say, Halo is what makes XBOX Popular. I disagree with this statement, but thats a whole different topic. Halo 3 is the most anticipated game for the XBOX 360. Many people held off to get an XBOX 360 until this November to get their hands on a copy of Halo 3. With this in mind, there is HUGE pressure on these authors, game designers, game engineers, managers, and Microsoft. With all this pressure on them to build not just a good game but a 'Freakingly Amazing FPS Game that will blow your socks off game of the year' these individuals are going to make the best freaking game you've ever played. Plus it has the Halo name on it too, so you know somewhat to expect, but there are going to be many additional features that is going to be put into this game.

Lets remember back to before Halo 2 was going to be released, this game was one of the best selling games to date. On its launch it sold MILLIONS of copies. Thats how big the anticipation was, and the only real difference between Halo 1 and Halo 2 is: new guns, new levels, new campaign, and XBOX Live. Thats 4 things, thats nothing. When making Halo 2 they knew that they would be making not just Halo 2, but they could forsee the launch of Halo 3 too. With this in mind, they didn't go overboard on making Halo 2, they only added in the necessary features to make Halo 2 a success, and have customers coming back to buy Halo 3, three years later.

Halo 2 was mainly used to get XBOX Live really going smoothly. Honestly, how many people actually played XBOX on the internet before Halo 2 came out? Not many people, there are tons more people playing xbox live now and thats soley because of Halo 2.

Additionally since Halo 3 is going to be the final chapter in the Halo trilligy its going to finish strong, and its going to finish on a great note. I guarantee that this game will be the Game of the Year, and people will be playing this game long after the life of the XBOX 360.

Only people who have never experienced the action of Halo say this guide is not helpful.

Halo 3 - The game every XBOX 360 owner should have

Graphics: Breathtaking 9.5/10
The graphics great. The rumors of an upgraded Halo 2, or Halo 2 like graphics is not true. With smooth framerates and stunning effects, you will be taken aback. Take some time to watch the backgrounds and environments and the detail of that went into these levels. This is after you clear everything that moves.

Sound: Amazing – 10/10
The sounds, music, effects, and voices take you immediately into the game. Surround sound is a must so you can hear the shots, shouts, and footsteps of the your opponents in this game. The score for this game heightens you senses, and truly brings you into the game.

Gameplay: Spectacular – 9/10
Smooth animations, large levels, smart enemies and A.I., big battles, and 4-player co-op = awesome. Without giving anything away, this is some great storytelling that gives way to some genuine wow moments.

Replay Value – Amazing 10/10
Multiplayer. That is all I have to say. This game has high replay value. Choose which way you would like to play online, but with the achievements, future downloadable content, 4-player co-op, and with over 1 million copies pre-ordered, and 4 million copies on retailers shelves in the first week, there will always be someone to play with.

Overall – Perfect 9.5/10
I am a fan of First-Person-Shooters (FPS) and all that is associated with them. I enjoy the emersion, and critique them heavily. This game allows you to “finish the fight”, but this game is so much more. The campaign brings closure, but it is the multiplayer aspect that will revolutionize XBOX Live and online gaming as we know it.

Halo 3 is Bungie’s 3-year project and baby, with unlimited resources from Microsoft, that was made to send Microsoft’s XBOX 360 to the next level, and it was worth the wait and money. With over 1 million pre-orders, this epic tale concludes with the highest pre-orders of a game to date. This game in campaign feels, and plays near perfect, and allows veterans and newcomers alike to enjoy and truly experience this game. The story line finishes up the previous two games, and is just long enough to make it feel right, and not dragged out. It took approximately 8.5 hours to beat it on legendary difficulty. It may be a bit shorter, though this was played immediately after a midnight sale of this game. The co-op was well done, and creates a new feel for campaign FPS games. I look forward to the future where this will be the standard in playing games.

The online is well done. Halo 3 has once again set the standard of what an online matchmaking/playing system should be. Putting together fun maps, objectives, and customizable Advatars, this game will appeal to the “newbie”, as well as the everyday online Halo player. With the Halo 2 system being overhauled, and the Bungie stat-tracker updated, this game will quickly become the number one game on XBOX Live.

I could write a five page review on this game, the battles, the enemies, weapons, and AI, but it still would not do it justice. If you have an XBOX 360, you should buy this, and buy it now. If you have thought about getting an XBOX 360, this would be the reason to get one. Does it live up to the hype? I don’t think anything could have lived up to the hype that is game received. This game was praised as the second coming, but what it is one of the best games of 2007, and is beautiful and fun to play.

This is a great product! But it can be expensive! I'm glad I found www.ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk where I got mine for free :)

All I did was sign up and then completed ONE offer. I recommend the Intuit 30 day FREE trial ,OR the Seattle Coffeeoffer as it is FREE to complete and takes a few minutes!

There are many alternative offers you can complete such as the King.com offer where you have play through $5. There is a chance you will win your money back anyway!

There are many other gadgets I can get for free this way, such as consoles, iPhones, iPods, Plasma TV's and the list goes on

Visit: www.ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk

before you think about putting your hands into your pocket for this gadget.

The site can afford to send out these "free" gifts because you have to complete an offer first. They get paid commission when me and you do so, which is used to buy the gift with money left over as profit for them!

I hope you enjoy the extra $$$'s saved in your bank account from using ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk :)

  Pro's And Con's of HALO 3
Review created: 09/22/07(updated 10/10/07)
15 of 22 people found this review helpful.

PRO'S I care, and I want it

Maybe everyone is making too big a deal about this, maybe the Halo franchise will never live up to the hype, but never before has a video game so moved me to ponder buying $3,000 in A/V equipment as Halo 3.

But the saga of Master Chief compels me to push for improvements in our home theater system - a 1080p flat-screen (uh-huh, I know Halo 3 only supports 720p), a surround-sound system, and yes, the pesky Xbox 360 itself (not to mention 60 bones for the actual disc).

Why? Call me a sucker for sci-fi. Or maybe I just like to blow off steam by blazing away on a virtual trigger.

But the Halo universe built good characters and provided great gameplay. I care whether Master Chief and the Arbiter save Earth by fighting off the Covenant and holding the Flood at bay. I want to see Cortana escape Gravemind and the In Amber Clad. And if any of that makes sense to you, then you do, too.

Halo has provided a compelling story and addictive mechanics that have influenced scads of games since the original's 2001 release. That's enough to make me want to finish the fight.

CON'S Just a whole lot of hype

The Halo craziness has as much to do with timing and hype as it does with Master Chief. What might have been a genuinely innovative or just super-polished shooter in 2002 is now one of a dozen top-shelf games. And as derivative as movie sequels are of the original, video game sequels are usually even more repetitive.

The sight of gamers lined up at midnight and the prospect of opening-day grosses that dwarf Spider-Man might be good fodder for media coverage ("Wouldja look at these crazy kids - boy, they sure are crazy for lining up for a silly game!"). But there are plenty of other, better reasons to "accidentally" spend that insurance money on an Xbox 360.

So the final chapter in the trilogy has finally coming, WOOT!! Well after that, let’s get to the review.

About the graphics, I don’t know why everyone was complaining about the graphics. Saying that the graphics weren’t as good as some other game. Well, Halo has a different art style that is packed with detail. Water looks great, trees and scenery looks awesome and the character models are extremely details. Overall, awesome graphics.

The controls and gameplay are awesome. The gameplay is fast placed and with the awesome A.I. makes for an extremely fun experience.

The A.I. is really smart this time around and is a huge improvement. They drive vehicles well and avoid obstacles, yell taunts, and funny remarks at the enemies and it really immerses you in the game. They take cover and try everything they can to stay alive.

The music score for the game, like the previous games are great to listen to and it lends itself to the gameplay.

Overall a great game. Halo 3 is released in 3 versions, regular, collectors, and legendary (which is $120) which comes with a helmet and extra DVDs. I give this game a 10 out of 10, not only because of its exciting storyline, but because it’s a great game altogether.

Halo 3 lives up to every bit of its ever-expanding reputation. However, a few small disappointments chip away at the game’s shot at perfection.

Every enemy type from the first two Halo games returns here smarter than ever, especially on Legendary difficulty. Since Elites are now your friends (the Arbiter and two generic Elites fill out a four-player co-op team), you won’t be fighting this classic enemy. Brutes do take on some Elite traits, like cloaking and their own answer to the Plasma Sword – a Gravity Hammer. However, an advanced form of a certain enemy group near the end proves to be the most challenging adversary.

Almost all of the old weapons are back (assault rifle ftw!) in addition to more new guns than ever. I especially like the detachable turrets, even if they do slow you down a little. A new power-up slot spices up the traditional melee, guns, and grenades mix. The Mongoose and Chopper complement previous Halo vehicles well, but the best addition is a powerful UNSC answer to the Banshee.

Halo 3’s multiplayer has really outdone itself this time. Countless modes and variants always keep the 11 maps fresh. In addition to standard modes like capture the flag, deathmatch, and king of the hill, several new creative modes abound – an especially cool one makes 25 percent of players “zombies” with plasma swords who must “infect” the remaining players.

The Forge is basically “modding lite” and makes the already expansive multiplayer even more unlimited. At any time during these unranked matches players can turn into a Monitor and add, move, or remove any object in the game. This can be a collaborative creation process, or you can have just one person with editing capabilities serve as a multiplayer DM of sorts. Think of what can happen during a heated battle when the editor decides to drop a Scorpion tank right in the middle of the fray.
Four-player co-op is fun as hell. Playing on Legendary is definitely a must, but even this extreme single-player challenge is severely watered down when you introduce other players. There’s also an unlockable campaign scoring system based on kills, headshots, and difficulty setting that can be enacted in single player and co-op. Online leaderboards provide a great incentive to come back to the campaign again and again like never before.

I also really dug the new Theater feature. It basically auto saves your last 25 campaign levels or multiplayer matches and allows you to watch them from any player perspective or from a floating camera, edit clips, take screens, and send them through Xbox Live. After playing around with this you’ll want it in every game.

However, Halo 3 does have a few small problems that are primarily located in the campaign. First off, full on boss battles are noticeably absent. Sure, you’ll fight a few massive enemies, but none of them really feel like a true boss. And the last major fight is more like a quick interactive cutscene than a knock-down, drag-out fight. This is especially disappointing because there is one obvious candidate Bungie could have used and didn’t. Also, there is plenty of trudging back and forth through the same environments in addition to the whole “Okay, we deactivated this tower. Now let’s take care of the next one with the exact same layout.” There are a few other nitpicky issues I have, but these are all relatively minor when you look at the big picture.

Overall, Bungie has crafted another masterpiece that serves as a fitting end

  **Awesome Halo 3 In-Depth Review**
Review created: 04/13/08
by:
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

After stowing away on a Forerunner spacecraft, the now iconic figure of the early 21st century pop culture, Master Chief, must make his way back to our neck of the woods - planet Earth. He must stop the army of alien zealots, known as the Covenant, who converge around their spiritual leader, the Prophet of Truth.

Let's play a little game called "Lob A Grenade!"

"We go left." Right. "Left." Right.

This chapter in the Halo history reaches its climax as Cortana, Spartan's ethereal female companion, is held captive by the Flood's intelligent embodiment, Gravemind. The Arbiter, leading the "freed" aliens alongside Master Chief must stop the Prophet from firing the Halo rings. Together, they must also eradicate the Flood infection once and for all.

After finishing the single-player campaign in Halo 3, one cannot help but feel as if we've come to the end of a trilogy. Was this the plan after the first Halo came out? I am not sure about that. Has this been the plan since the conception of Halo 2? One can be absolutely sure of this.

And so, with the cliffhanger ending in Halo 2, Bungie deliberately left a lot of things unsaid. They left the players guessing for three years almost. In Halo 3, you can sense that the team had a strong desire to complete this chapter, to let it come full circle.

In that sense, even though the campaign starts in medias res so to speak, the tag-line "Finish the Fight," truly becomes the main theme of the third installment in the series. In fact, once you've completed the story, "Finish the Fight," changes into "Finished the Fight," on your Halo 3 menu screen. As if to accentuate even further that things will come to a climactic resolution.

Additionally, there are a few notable signs that have happened "behind the scenes" that serve as further proof of this. Many of you have surely heard Halo 3 being referenced as Halo 2.5. When we look at the player models and even the AI, technically, it's clear that Bungie hasn't built a new engine from scratch. Halo 3 quite certainly uses a modified version of the Halo 2(1?) code, and although it carries many technological improvements, one cannot escape the feeling that the programmers have just about squeezed the last drop out of a code that's getting a little long in the tooth.

Don't get me wrong though, we are talking solely about the technical side of things, and even on this front, Bungie has done a lot to make this game feel next-gen. To start with, the levels with dense jungle vegetation show off just how far they've pushed the tech. Fancy soft body physics are at work here, coupled with a clever use of advanced pixel shader effects. On the other hand, the character models look dated, with rigid facial animation that offsets the advancements made in the rendering of the environment, and especially in the lighting.

Speaking of which, the HDR lighting is put to amazing use in Halo 3. Bungie does the most spectacular job of leading the player through dimly lit and narrow indoor areas and then overwhelming us with sprawling, sun-lit landscapes since Valve's Half-Life 2.

Furthermore, the physics calculations and all they entail become an integral part of the gameplay; as you would expect in any next-gen shooter.
Overall Rating- 13/10 (Oh Yeah!)

  Really Great Multiplayer Game
Review created: 11/18/07(updated 11/18/07)
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

This game is a really great game. It is different from other first person shooter games because it really doesn't rely on its graphics too much and the playability is absolutely endless. Overall this game has a very exciting and fun campaign (single and co-op). Unlike other FPS games, you get to ride in vehicles, tanks and fly planes throughout the missions. This alone was absolutely fun. The only problem I had with this game was the lack of widescreen on the co-op campaign.

Playability: 5 out of 5
Controls: 5 out of 5
Audio: 5 out of 5
Graphics: 4 out of 5
Story: 5 out of 5

The multi-player is really fun, even though I'm not that great at it. You get to sit down with all your buddies and go at with one another. This game was made for the multi-player and the multi-player returns the favor to all the collectors, customers and players. Overall, this game was worth the purchase. Halo will go down in history like other great Sci-fi games and stories, make sure you grab it!

One of the Best Xbox 360 Games
Review created: 01/03/09
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

One of the best shooters for the 360. Its right up there with Gears of War. Very fun online and also co-op with a friend. Adding to Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, the epic saga continues with Halo 3, the amazingly anticipated sequel to the highly successful and critically acclaimed Halo franchise. In this third chapter of the Halo trilogy, Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax.Game developer Bungie announced that Halo 3 will be released for Microsoft's Xbox 360 sometime in 2007. The game was revealed to the world at the Microsoft press conference held at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA in May 2006. To gamer's delight, the announcement was a complete surprise. The rumors have been abound for the past year, as everyone wondered when the next installment would be ready. Bungie and Microsoft did a stellar job keeping their lips sealed, and fans benefited from their first glimpse of the hallowed third and final installment.

The short presentation was delivered in real-time on the Xbox 360 using the current version of the Halo 3 game engine. That's right, no studio production video, Bungie and Microsoft delivered the real deal: what they showed at the announcement is what gamers will see when they play Halo 3 in 2007. The HDR lighting, self-shadowing, GPU-run particle system and many other effects are rumored to show up in full effect in the final game. Needless to say, the gaming community is salivating.

CJ Cowan, Bungie's director of cinematics discussed one of the most startling moments of the presentation: the return of Cortana. "Given the variety of character and story arcs at the end of Halo 2, we wanted to boil down our announcement to a few key threads. Cortana and the Chief being a galaxy apart is a situation we haven't seen before, and is something that is a powerful component to Halo 3. We are using her transmissions in the demo to give the viewer a few subtle clues to her situation and state of mind, without revealing any specifics we want to save for the game itself."

I paid for the item on 6/1/08 and the item did not arrive until 6/23/08. I contacted the seller several times he said he did not have the money to ship the item. Even though I paid for shipping, he said he had more important things to pay. When the item finally came it was not new in the factory seal as it was advertised. I am very unhappy with this sale. I would not have paid so much for a used item.

this is a review from a friend who made it to NY and was one of the first to play (145th in line) and owned Luke (artist of Halo series) with the gravity hammer. The graphics are intense, the gameplay is NON-STOP, and the action never stops coming. As in previous years in certain levels, you would stop and wait.. the AI doesn't let you this time. You're always bound to catch some type of trouble and have to maneuver yourself out of hard-to-get-out-of situations! The multi player weapon and map selections are amazing, as well as the new moving vehicle base! Everything is so unique, for a FPS!

Halo 3 is the most anticipated game EVER, they already expect it to make $20 million dollars on 9/25. Halo CE was a great game, great campaign mode and great for LAN parties, then Halo 2...ok campaign mode and BEST multiplayer xbox live game TO DATE. I played the Halo 3 beta and it was amazing, Halo 3 is going to be the biggest game of 07 no doubt (maybe even 08 if nothing good comes out). The campaign is already a + with the 4 player online co-op, but I know the creators put a lot of work towards the campaign since its all about "FINISH THE FIGHT". but the multiplayer is where its really at, it's going to be Halo 2 except everythings upgraded. The ONLY thing that can make this game suck would be cheaters. People won't be able to mod it (and if they do then there 360s are getting banned), I don't think standbyings an issue anymore (with all the feedback they'll get if they DO happen to do it, they'll get banned quickly). And the last part is just ordinary lag, if the game lags or the servers crash from all the people playing then that would just suck. But if you own a xbox 360 this game is a MUST have.

Lots of action, lots of fun, lots of new stuff, lots of...halo!
Lots of people say that this is basically the only good 360 game out there...but its worth it!

When halo 1 first came out not many folks were thinking of a game trilogy. It seems the studio isn't done yet--more are apparently on the way!

People say apple is better than microsoft...maybe...but iphones, ipods, and other ijunk aren't as fun as this game! Unlike windows, Halo 3 doesn't usually crash or hang.

60 bucks is the retail price. Wonder how much of that goes to Bill Gates? ...Its still worth it though.

  GOOD GAME

Halo 3 is one of the best fps games, especially with its xbox live team battles and connectivity with friends.

Nice product! Quick shipping! Good communication! The game disc was used, as the ad stated, but in excellent condition. It contained all papers the new ones have and the disc was like new. A good value! Thank you!!!
