Description
Halo 3: ODST's tale focuses on the legendary ODSTs or "Orbital Drop Shock Troopers" as they drop into the ruined city of New Mombasa, looking for clues behind the Covenant's catastrophic attack on the city. The new campaign chapter predates the events that unfold in "Halo 3" and gives players a new perspective through the eyes of a new hero in the "Halo" universe. New multiplayer maps ensure that the award-winning Xbox LIVE experience of "Halo 3" continues to thrive.

Special Features
  • All-new campaign content. The "Halo 3: ODST" campaign is an intriguing side story that takes place during the terrifying events leading up to the Master Chief's return to New Mombasa in "Halo 3." Experience the fate of Earth from the brand-new perspective of a special forces ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), adding a unique outlook and new gameplay elements to the events that unfold in the trilogy's finale. While the feel of this new chapter will greatly resemble that of previous "Halo" experiences, "Halo 3: ODST" will require players to employ more elements of stealth and cunning than ever before.
  • A new hero: Prepare to drop. Known for their courage, valor and, at times, insanity, ODSTs are among the fiercest UNSC soldiers, priding themselves on being the first unit deployed into hostile situations. While not as large or supernaturally gifted as their Spartan comrades, these "Hell Jumpers" more than compensate with their ferocious attitudes and unwavering nerve.
  • Expanded multiplayer collection. No "Halo" experience would be complete without groundbreaking multiplayer content,* and "Halo 3: ODST" gives fans more of what they love. With exclusive new maps and full Forge options, players will find more multiplayer content than ever before with "Halo 3: ODST."
  • Ever-growing community options. Players will continue to enjoy all the great "Halo 3" technological innovations, including Saved Films, screenshots, Campaign Scoring and four-player co-op. All of the new multiplayer maps fully support the Forge editor, offering endless gameplay customization possibilities for fans.

Every Halo fan should buy this game!

There are places where Halo 3: ODST could be improved, but when it comes right down to it, every Halo fan should buy this game. Even if you've lost interest in the franchise over the years or haven't ever given a Halo game a look, you'd do well to grab ODST and a few friends for some of the best multiplayer gaming around, especially with as wonderful an addition as Firefight. The campaign is a tad short, but well-crafted and exciting. Then there's a whole disc full of multiplayer maps, though you may already own the bulk of them.

Halo 3: ODST isn't a true sequel, but it is more than a standard expansion. If you're on the fence about buying it, drop your reservations and go snag a copy. If you love Halo, you owe it to yourself to pick this up as soon as you can.

      9.0 Presentation
A tight story and well-crafted world make for one of Bungie's best efforts to date.
      9.0 Graphics
The Halo 3 engine is starting to show its age, but the art team has done its best to make this one a looker.
      10 Sound
Another Halo game, another fantastic soundtrack.
      9.0 Gameplay
The campaign might be a tad short, but it sure is satisfying. The fresh approach to Halo is a winner.
      9.0 Lasting Appeal
Firefight is awesome. It would be even better with matchmaking.
      9.0 Outstanding OVERALL

Halo ODST Good game but not the best

This game has an amazing overall feeling to it. The only reason I gave the controls a lower score is simply because I'm so used to playing on 10 sensitivity and in ODST it's slower than previous Halo games. And in Firefight it's even slower. I hope this is soon fixed with a patch. But the rest of the game is amazing. I played through the first time on Heroic and found that I was constantly challenged by new things. The storyline is excellent in how it has the character searching the city for clues on what happened to the rest of his squad. I'm not going to spoil it, but the ending is amazing and left me quite awed. Really it made me just drop the controller where I sat.

Firefight is an awesome gamemode. It's basically a zombie mode where you see how long you can last through wave after wave of Covenant attackers. And it's intense. When you get 4 players in it, then you can play for hours and never lose interest. I was left wanting to play more, but I had to go home. I love the fact that you can do Firefight online but the fact that there's no matchmaking was a bummer. I'd love to just play firefight with some random people. Hopefully it'll come in an update.

Having all the maps on a disc is an amazing add. It allows you to keep your profile with you and not having to leave your profile logged in so people can use the maps. And you can take them with you anywhere without having to lug around the hard drive then have to plug into Live later.

All in all it's an amazing game and I say buy it.

If you have any questions about this system that I did not mention here, please contact me, I would be more than happy to answer all of your questions about this system. If I did not mention a certain detail that you would like to know, just tell me and I will add it here. Thank You
