Silver writes like you are talking to a good friend. I've enjoyed Halloween for a long time so this book is a logical choice. In chapter one it gives background and how the day has changed. Then chapter two gives you customs and traditions. Chapter three informs you on the symbols and superstitions. Chapter four gets more metaphysical with Halloween divination. Chapter five is receipes. Chapter six is magick with spells. and Chapter seven is "A time to honor the dead" with rituals.
If you want to learn more about Halloween, for reference, fun, or serious practice this is the book to include into your library.
I can hardly wait for Halloween this year so I can put some of these fun and yummy things into practice.

this book is very informative about how halloween came about , why we have jack o' lanterns (they used to be made out of turnips ) , to why there is a superstition about black cats . you need not be intrested in wicca to enjoy this well written book.

for those who love all things halloween , i highly suggest this book ! silver ravenwolf is a brilliant writer , she also brings up why witches are so highly used in halloween ( hello puritans!) , in the end she brings honor to this wonderfuly loved holiday . we should all know how our holidays came about , now we can know more about halloween with this book.

there are also recipes, and spells for your all hollows eve night !

I loved this book, everything from recipes to spells to rituals to awesome history about the holiday. I love the authors writing style too, she's very funny and has an awesome way of putting it all together. This book is a great way to learn more about Halloween and Samhain and share it with my family. Silver Ravenwolf has written another fantastic book!

Just one out of a series that Llewellyn books has put out covering the the Sabbats. An excelleant book covering the history, customs, spells, recipes, crafts, divination, honoring the dead, and Halloween magick. A great book for anyone who celebrates the Sabbat, new and old alike. One of my favorites for the holiday.

This book is awesome! I love reading Silverwolf books she is honest n not afraid to tell it like it is. Halloween is my fav time of year so im always lookin for more to learn about it. It also gives little extras like the recipes n spells.

I love this book! Love this author! As the title implied this book has the history of halloween, wonderful recipes for the season and even some spells to honor our dear departed. I had to get 2 because my sister begged me for a copy. I love the fact that Raven is a practicing witch and teacher.
