Like Camp Crystal Lake, Haddonfield's no vacation spot.

Before a murderous mama's boy sporting a hockey mask discovered his calling in the afterlife was dismembering hapless horny teens, there was an equally mindless psychopath spawned who got his kicks out of slicing up babysitters & citizens in his hometown of Haddonfield. Halloween was not only the milestone of John Carpenter's career: it was a seminal stepping stone to the slasher genre. Often imitated but never replicated, Carpenter crafted a film thick on atmosphere, minimal on gore & introduced the world to an unforgettable horror icon: Michael Myers, a jumpersuit wearing maniac with a fetish for spraypainted William Shatner masks (seriously) & butcher knife wielding.
