Anita Blake readers will enjoy this urban fantasy. Cat is your average girl-next-door, except for spending her evenings luring and killing evil vampires. One of those evil vampires raped Cat's mother; he was newly turned and therefore was able to impregnate her... with Cat. Cat's mixed blood explains her unusual strength and her special attraction to trolling vampires.

Through a series of encounters with a vampire called Bones, Cat begins to realize that not all vampires are evil.

Lots of conflicts, twists, & turns to keep the reader's attention; enough violence & sex that you wouldn't want your kids to read it.

I love this author and was really excited to find the book so cheap on ebay. Thanks so much. I have already read it twice!

in exchange for finding her father, cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as fangs. she amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner are there actually good vampires? pretty soon bones will have her convinced that bieng half dead doesn't have to be all bad.

i have been holding on to these for a while now. and it actually turned out to be pretty good. the plot has multiple layers, a rare thing now adays.

cat turns out to be a pretty strong character and not necessarily in the physical sense. it's nice to see a female protrayed as strong like antia blake or damali richards or eve dallas. it's nice to not see a stephanie plum or a betsey taylor.

there are a couple of "surprise betrayls" that you didnt' see coming which is cool which make the book interesting.

a little annoyed about her joining the fbi, but the answers are in the next book.

but definately a really good read. i actually couldn't put it down until i finished it, which is very rare these days.

This is the first book that I have read by Jeaniene Frost and WOW.The whole book from start to end was so captivating that I may have to change my favorite story teller to this writer with a sick and twisted imagination.LOVED THIS BOOK!! Thank god I have the second book in A NIGHT HUNTRESS NOVEL because I'm so hooked.
I decided to buy the book along with 60 others in a book lot of paranormal romance books most never had been read before.Best buy I have ever made

I am a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and this new series reminded me of it in so many ways. Cat is the tough vampire slayer and a lost and lonely soul.
Bones is the tough vampire....vampire slayer. He becomes the teacher, the lover and the best friend. Their sometimes brutal relationship is a forerunner to a great love affair. While not in the same league as The Back Dagger Brotherhood series or the early Anita Blake series, I can see great potential in this new writer and I look forward to more from this series. Highly recommended.
