Haley's Hints by Graham Haley, Rosemary Haley (2004, Paperback, Reprint)

I bought Haley’s Hints with the hope of finding solutions to some of my special cleaning problems. I was able to make my own cleaning products with some, on hand, inexpensive household items. Cleaning silver and other general cleaning, worked well with the given formulas.
There were unfortunately, a lot of outdated solutions and ideas. Some of the needed ingredients are either no longer readily available, or they are now as expensive as the “on the shelf” complete products. The main cleaning topics that had concerned me, were either not addressed or did not work to my satisfaction. Some of the products, that I was able to use, worked as well as commercial products.
All in all, I thought that Haley’s Hints was an entertaining, somewhat useful book, but don’t expect it to be life changing.

This book is great! I keep learning about new ways to use natural products to replace chemical remedies. Well, maybe the remedies aren't new. I think our forefathers (and mothers) used these remedies. Somehow, we forgot them. Anyway, the information in this book is new to me and I'm grateful to know easy, natural, healthier remedies to everyday challenges. And, so many of the ingredients suggested are already in the house.

I reviewed this book on tv on the PBS channel. The book and the man Mr. Haley was on PBS doing an auction. All of his tips in cleaning was valuable and cost effective. I wrote down a lot of his hints. I could not afford the $100 auction price to purchase the book along with video. Therefore, I borrowed the book from the public library. The book was great. I then decided that I HAVE to purchase this book. With money being an issue I decided to get it from half.ebay.com and got it as a great price.

the book is very helpful. i'm so glad i got it.it tells you how to do alot of stuff around the house with out spending a lot of money.you can make home made cleaning stuff for the house to everything to washing clothes. thank you so much for the book ...

easy to find cleaning instructions and excellent tips on how to clean the hardest messes. I have little ones, and it's great not to have to use chemicals to clean anymore.

awesome info in this book..you wouldnt beleive it. I had seen it on tv and it looked like it would be good, so i figured i would get it an see...well, it was BETTER than i ever expected. Loaded with household tips and secrets that you would never think of using..and they work!!!!

I have always wanted this book and it was everything I had anticipated. there were Hundreds of hints that make a household an easier place to maintain. Everybody in my family has borrowed the book to help them at home as well. I would buy another if anything happened to this book (I'll probably wear out the pages reading it) thanks again for a great book. No household should be without one! I recommend this book to everybody.

My husband saw Haley on PBS late at night and wanted a copy. I think there's a hint for everyone in the book. Sometimes I think the hints aren't worth the bother. Others I think, what a good idea. I have it sitting in the bathroom for quick reading. I imagine in the future I'll be back checking for solutions to problems. And I think it would make a great gift for some of my practical friends.
