Crystal Wright's book a must-have for Makeup & Fashion
Review created: 06/27/08(updated 06/27/08)

Well, I won't pretend that I don't know anything about this book, because I wrote it. And I wrote it for people who are desperately trying to get into the business of working in print, video, film and TV as makeup artists, hair stylists or fashion stylists. And it's great for manicurists too.
For $40 (soon to be $50 for the 5th edition) you can't beat it.
It will tell you how to get your portfolio started, how to find and work with great photographer (they're not all great you know), how to find an agent to represent you, and what to do if you can't find an agent, because not all cities have agencies. I tell you about creating a comp card, and much much more.
If you're thinking about fashion styling, you need to know that FIT in New York uses this book at the text book for their fashion styling class. Yes, and so do a few other colleges.
It's the best $40-$50 you will ever spend.
The edition pictured here is the 2nd edition. It isn't available any longer, but I never take anything out of a new edition I just add more. The current onee is 400 pages.

I'm Crystal Wright, and I'm the author.
Have an awesome day.
