The Hair Color Mix Book by Karen Kelly, Lorri Goddard-clark (2008, Paperback, Reprint)

There are some interesting ideas in this book. Most of them are relatively easy for home colorists to do. There is definitely an art to highlighting and most should leave it to the pros. At best it is difficult to highlight your own hair. Also results achieved will depend on whether your hair has been colored or is virgin, which the author does mention in the book.
If you like to experiment and aren't going to freak out if your results aren't identical to the photos in the book.....buy it and have fun!
