HTC Touch Pro Touch Pro2 (T-Mobile)

The title says "T-Mobile", but this one's a Verizon (as advertised in the ad). The phone-PPC design is awesome. They really thought through the problems in earlier PPCs and corrected them here. Numerous functional improvements. Examples: 1. No buttons to put it in speaker phone mode... just lay it face down. Returns to regular mode when you pick it up. 2: No button pushes required to pull it out of sleep mode. Just pull out the stylus or open the keyboard. 3. The only buttons on the sides (that you'll inevitably press by accident while you're talking) are the two volume buttons, and they're appropriately positioned. 4: Screen automatically goes off when you put it up to your ear when talking and automatically comes back on when you pull it away from your face. Many more such functional improvements. I LOVE the new keyboard and tilting screen. True QWERTY keyboard that's large enough to use without hitting three keys at once. Many reviews say it's too big. I disagree. If it were any smaller the keyboard wouldn't be large enough (for a 6' guy, anyway). The size also allows for a wonderfully large full front screen, and it's only a half inch or so larger (top to bottom) than my XV6800 was. The size is perfect IMO. Wouldn't even mind if it were a bit larger. I disabled "Touch-Flo" on this one as I find that the Windows interface is far more intuitive for me, but I'm a huge computer geek anyway, so you may like the Touch-Flo interface. I'm sure the average user would. I also love the fact that they put back the 3.5 mm audio jack that they removed on the XV6800. Allows me to plug it up to my car stereo and use it like an IPod, playing my selections through the car stereo. The built in squeaker speaker sounds far better than earlier models as well. It's loud and sounds far better than you'd expect a tiny speaker to. Also, the ear piece speaker is much better than earlier models. Even at full volume, at times it was hard to hear phone conversations in a noisy environment with the 6800. However, even people with slight hearing impairment should find this usable. This thing borders on hurting your ear if you turn it all the way up. Synopsis: If you enjoyed the 6700 and 6800, I think you'll absolutely love the Touch Pro 2. No wonder Verizon is out of stock on this model as I write this.
