Gun (PlayStation 2, 2005)

Graphics 9/10 -

Awesome graphics for a PlayStation 2 game. Unbelievably detailed terrains compliment the rustic buildings. The people's mouths move in sync with the words, all the body movements are fluid. Great animations in this game. By far superior to Red Dead Revolver. Other games, such as Shadow of the Colossus, obviously has better graphics, but this game holds its own in the battle for realism.

Story 8/10 -

At first when I put the disc in the tray and eagerly sat back into my chair and listened to the story I thought "The hell...I'm lost!" But, over time, the story becomes clear. I don't like spoiling games, so I won't go into detail. But it's nothing original or new, however it is well executed. Plus it is open ended. Which sums up to hours of endless fun.

Gameplay 9/10 -

Excellent gameplay. Smooth controls! This is quite possibly one of the smoothest games I've played in awhile. Whether shooting in first or third person views you will hit your target. If the reticle is red, so will your enemy's shirt soon enough. As far as level designs go...It's nothing special. It's two cities; Dodge City, Kansas and Empire, New Mexico. Those two cities are separated by an expanse of...well...emptiness. A few caverns, herds of buffalo, some wolves...Kind of empty.

Difficulty level -

Not really a ranked category...But I thought I'd throw it in here for one reason: THIS GAME PISSED ME OFF! It takes a lot of patience only because this game is a large escort mission mixed in with some action. Be it escorting a wagon, protecting some one, or escorting some cows or a rancher...It takes patience, like I said. I actually broke a small table in my room because of the frustration. It's quite hard. Even on easy... Although it can be frustrating and it takes several retries, it's a short game. I beat it in a day.
