Album Notes
So who's gonna argue with a budget compilation that traces the hard rock of the '70s from Deep Purple to the Ramones with Montrose, Jo Jo Gunne and Triumph in between? Sure, there are two questionables here: they could have either pumped in the Velvet's "Sister Ray," instead of "Rock & Roll," (or used Mitch Ryder and Detroit's superior version) and what's up with Yes? But that would be quibbling. The rest is bad-ass street and stadium swagger to swill Annie Green Springs and beer to. Recommended. ~ Thom Jurek
