Guitar Hero II (Game & Guitar Controller Bundle) (PlayStation 2, 2006)

My son received Guitar Hero II for Christmas. He and my 12-year-old daughter both absolutely love it. HUGE hit, they played for hours. The guitar is the controller, but you can also use PS2 controllers to play the game. It's creative and it's not violent. Overall I highly recommend this game if your children love music and games.

I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my nephew but we all took a turn playing the game, including my mom who's 67 years old. We had so much fun even though my nephew was the only who could really play the game. I ordered it via ebay just in case I couldn't find it in the store. We got it on time and it was worth the extra expense of getting it shipped.

I've been playing my cousin's non-stop for the past few days and I LOVE it. It's challenging and fun, and in two-player mode each player can set different skill levels. It's so awesome!!! I highly recommend it!! :D

I bought this for my son's 13th birthday present. It was very affordable, even with shipping. When he got it, we did have a few problems, and the company was more than happy to replace it for us!!!! We did not have to exchange it, however, it just needed a little cleaning. The point is - the company was MORE THAN HAPPY to replace the game or refund my money. This is absolutly the best game that has ever come out. You get to play the songs with a guitar that is the controller!! The game also has some of the best bands and songs ever. Some examples you may ask there is Nirvana:Heart Shaped Box, Kiss: Strutter, Lynard Skynard: Freebird; Heart: Crazy On You, and that is just a few there is songs for everybody!! I bought this game because I played it with a friend and bought the second one and it was the best thing I ever did. If you are deciding if you want this game just buy it. Best game ever for PS2.

Believe this or not, I was at my grandson's house and he told me to play the game. Well, once I picked it up I was hooked!..lol...Now, my husband, myself and my daughter's family get together every once in a while for our own "little guitar hero fests". We all have a really great time..

So, I fully recommend this game 100%...

This game isn't just for kids!! i'm 22 and my friends and i play this game alot! The songs on there are great. More options than guitar hero. Also, you might want to consider getting a second guitar, in this game you and a friend can play together!!!! It's GREAT!!!

The guitar hero game and wireless guitar bundle is awesome. The guitar looks great and plays well too. It also has a second set of fret buttons closer to the base of the neck which makes playing a lot more interesting when you are really rocking out. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to start up Guitar hero or adding to their current PS2 collection.

Before buying this off of ebay, I had already played Guitar Hero I&II. I LOVE IT. As a 19 y/o female in college, I can't say enough about it. I have 22 year old friends who are playing it, even my 15 year old brother. If you look at all the videos on YouTube you can see how good even kids as young as 8 y/o are! I absolutely recommend it, it's also amazing for hand/eye coordination. Don't hesitate to buy this product!

I really enjoyed the fact that it was easy to learn how to play the guitar. I didn't have to spend 4 hours fumbling around with the guitar. The game is excellent. My son really enjoys learning how to use the guitar and he is getting better with his hand-eye coordination.
We bought the game because we saw it at a local retailer, but they were out of them. Thank God for eBay.

This is so much fun. My entire family enjoys it. We all love music and singing and this just adds a little bit more to that. We laugh constantly when we play.

My 6 year son wanted Guitar Hero for his birthday, so I bought if for him a few weeks early. The whole family including myself haven't really played any other PS2 game since. It's so addicting and fun. Makes you think you're actually on stage playing a real guitar.

Great fun for the family we all ready had one so we bought another now we can play two people at a time.

I recently purchased a Guitar Hero II, in light of 'everyone' saying how much fun it is. And it is!!

Great fun for the whole family. It requires a lot of eye hand coordination.

One suggestion - If you play for a long period of time, occasional look away. Your eyes need to take a break in between play time. I played two songs in a row and later looked at the floor....it looked warped as though looking in a lava lamp.

It is super fun and challenging, but I cannot give it an Excellent rating because The Music sticks. There are many 4 or 5 good songs. The rest are lame. I mean this company is making a mint off this game you think they could get s better song selection.

I got guitar hero II for my sister about a year ago and it is a great game and has a cool career mode. I played all the easy and got 5 stars on every one. then i started to play medium and I got four to five stars on each one, but when i got to yyz or called "Jordan" the game stared to freeze on me. I have no idea what is wrong. I cant pass that song so i cant get any new songs. I am hoping that cleaning the disk and clean the ps2 with one of those disk cleaners will help. This is a great challanging game to buy, but hopefully it wont have gliches.

Some of the most fun I've had playing games in the last few years was going a couple of rounds of Guitar Hero with a few friends. It's a fantastic party game and if you've never played it, you owe it to yourself to check it out. This, much like SingStar and Dance Dance Revolution, is a title that's going to appeal highly to your "non-traditional" gamer crowd. I could, honestly, fawn over how much fun it is for hours, but there were a couple of things about the 360 version of this game that I wanted to bring up.

First, I know there are a ton of you out there that have a PS2 version of this already. If that's the case, I'm not sure there's enough added content out-of-the-box to warrant buying the game a second time. The only difference would be about ten added titles to the soundtrack. Now, mind you, they're all great songs; but is what amounts to a CD enough for you to plunk down another ninety bucks?

Unfortunately, two of the features I was really pulling for on the 360 version aren't making the final release. I was wildly excited over getting a wireless guitar, but there was some kind of licensing hang-up with Microsoft over the use of their wireless technology. Red Octane has said that they're hopeful they'll eventually release a wireless guitar, but they couldn't get past the red tape fast enough. I'm a bit bummed, but, to Red Octane's credit, the wired guitar they included is really cool looking.

Secondly, I'm also a bit disappointed that there isn't an online multi-player competition. I thought it would have been awesome to have head-to-head rock-offs. I don't know if this is something they could work in later, but Microsoft's online play is so well done and so much fun that I'm always a little let-down when developers don't take advantage of it. It wound up being the only issue I dinged the game a star for. If that was included, this may have been as close to perfect as I could have hoped for.

The graphics for this aren't staggeringly better then the PS2 version, but on the other hand, they don't really need to be either. It's considered a high-definition game, but honestly, you'll probably only notice a small difference. In a game like this, you're looking at the play-ability. As long as the graphics aren't a distraction, that should be enough. The game play here is as addictive as any you'll ever hope to find.

The Co-op play with the bass-guitar mode is a lot of fun and a cool feature. I'm also really looking forward to seeing what song downloads end up being available on xBox marketplace. Jury's still out until we see the content, but that's a pretty cool feature that'll keep this game fresh for a long time.

As I mentioned before, if you're an xBox lifer, who's never had the chance to check out this former PS2 exculsive, you owe it to yourself to pick this up. If you already have the PS2 version, however, you'll be just as content to rock out with that for now.
