I love Aerosmith & Guitar Hero 3!

Guitar Hero 3: Aerosmith is the first expansion game for the Guitar Hero 3 franchise for the Nintendo Wii. It was released June 29th, 2008 by Activision.
The game follows the same principle as Guitar Hero 3. The only difference is that you are playing basically as Aerosmith! You start off by watching a neat cartoon video showing the life story of Aerosmith. As you play the game you get to watch neat video's before each stage that show members of Aerosmith talk about the significance of the stage that you are about to play!
Each "gig" or section starts off with you playing two songs that Aerosmith selected from each time frame. The two songs are from celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way.
You also get to play venues from historical moments during the band's illustrious career offer the experience of "sweet emotion" and further capture the essence of the band’s rise to fame. So you get to play Kansas City's in New York, and the high school where Aerosmith first played!
The cartoon characterization of Aerosmith is done well on the Wii. Tyler actually looks good! LoL. :)
Song Selection:
A great selection from the entire Aerosmith library. Awesome tracks!
Graphics:
Very similar to Guitar Hero 3 for Wii. Nothing really new. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)
Complaints:
The only complaint is the number of "covers" of the favorite songs before you get to play the Aerosmith songs.
Overall:
As an Aerosmith fan I give this a 5/5!

I like this addition to the guitar hero series, I have fun playing it as much as my 8 year old does. It's challenging and entertaining and learning facts about the band is also nice. I didn't give it excellent because the steven tyler and joe perry charicatures look totally creepy, it's a tad distracting for me, but then again, the other male lead singer doesn't look any better. I just wish they could look more realistic, I don't even think it looks that much like steven tyler. The red thing that's supposed to be DMC's tongue is disturbing, but other than that the music is good and I enjoy it. You won't regret buying this game.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith: the horrorO.K, I own Guitar Hero III, and thought it was great! But I guess everything has to have a bad side. In this case, Guitar Hero: Areosmith!
pros: good graphics. thats it.
cons: I've NEVER heard of ANY of those songs, bad button-action response time (to my standard)
It's just not the guitar Hero that I'm used to! Now if they made a Guitar Hero: nickelback, THAT is my kind of game!

If you've played Guitar Hero before, this is an okay add on, but save your money and buy it used. That's what eBay is for!!!! Nothing spectacular, and some of the song choices are lousy...lots of great Aerosmith left out.... I suppose they'll want to do an Aerosmith II ????

This game needs more songs. It does have great graphics and some pretty good songs. Young children play these games, but be careful, there is some pretty strong language. Skip the interviews and you'll be okay.

I have a Wii and we LOVE our Guitar Hero III LEGENDS OF ROCK!!! Great songs, songs everyone knows. We were really looking forward to the AEROSMITH version, thinking there would be new cool songs, but we were wrong!
HOW BORING!! You have to play a bunch of UNKNOWN Aerosmith songs that totally suck. Then the other songs from artists you would know, they dont even have the REAL artists playing the songs!! WHY PUT THE SONGS ON THERE IF THE ORIGINAL ARTIST WONT ALLOW IT ON????
Total disappointment, from a real Wii and game fan for over 30 years. Take my word for it, wait for the next GH game....This is nothing but a cheap ploy at a commercial to sell Aerosmiths new cd which sucks.

Game is great with the songs you love from Aerosmith. Graphics are not smooth and during fast singing, the characters look really awful. Graphic skipping during expert mode. Hammer ons and let offs are not as smooth as "Legends of Rock". You cannot slide your finger in anticipation for the next note on hammer ons or let offs. You must press it exactly, which makes for a tough re-learning curve. So far so good. I like.

I was grateful to order the aerosmith unit on a prebuy basis to ensure that i got it quickly. I have to admit the songs at first were pretty lame. As you get into the vault and progress the songs get better.

I have Guitar Hero III and this Aerosmith version. I like them both, but love the Aerosmith version even more. You are the opening act for 2 songs at each venue for two cover songs from other bands and after that you get to be Aerosmith and play several of their songs at that venue. It is very similar to Guitar Hero III in play and menu screens. You have the same characters to choose from, but can also earn the members(guitar and bass players) of Aerosmith, Run DMC and maybe another person. There are not as many extra songs available in this game to purchase as there are in Guitar Hero III.
