Not only does the debut of E, Skinew & Gangsta T stay musically and thematically consistent with the material released to date under the iced-down No Limit imprint, but the album's list of featured artists comprises most of the label's star performers, including Snoop Dogg, Mystikal, Kane & Abel, Silkk The Shocker and Mr. Bout it-bout it himself, Master P.
Adhering to the perpective of small-time hustlers caught up in the illegal industry of cocaine and heroin, Prime Suspects digress only on "Bust Back," (which infuses the usual subject matter with something like revolutionary race-consciousness. Other highlights are "Tweekin," a junkie's-eye view monologue reminiscent of classic toasts like "King Heroin" or The Last Poets' "Jones Comin' Down," and "Someone Shoulda Told Me," a he said-she said exchange on sexual politics between the Suspects & Mia X.
