Once again Dave Bowers confirms his position as one of the greatest living numismatists. Like the others, this 'Guide Book' is informative and easy to read. The book described the history of the commemorative coin in the United States and give a complete description of each issue. Anyone interested in obtaining commemorative coins from the classic or modern period would be well served by purchasing this book. Nuances of strike are discussed as well as pricing (as of the publishing date) and avaiability. Of specific interest is the political intrigue that surrounds many of these coins and coin sets. The book is well illustrated with photographs of each issue and contains a very good bibliography for those that wish to read further about these fascinating coins.
