If you know a young lady who loves crafts and projects this is the perfect gift. From decorating lampshades and light switches to organizing supplies and collections to painting furniture, there are plenty of projects for a room makeover. Combine colorful photos with inexpensive, easy-to-find supplies and simple directions and your American Girl will have a room that is one of a kind, just like she is.

) I decided to buy this book, in no small part because it was inexpensive. But also at almost 10, she is old enough to take on more responsibility for her room. My suggestions went in one ear and out the other even faster. I thought she needed to hear the message from someone other than good old mom. My oldest daughter loves to read and loves the American Girl series, so I thought for the money, it can't be too bad.
I liked the fact that this book relies on simple, easy, no-nonsense ways that require very little, if any, money to get a big impact. My daughter got the book on a Friday after school, read it and Saturday morning was making some changes in her room. No small feat for this messy girl!
