How the Grinch Stole Christmas (DVD, 2001, Widescreen)

How The Grinch Stole Christmas, with Jim Carey, is a great movie to add to your holiday movie collection, or any collection at all! The movie tells of the classic Dr. Seuss tale, yet it has a modern flare.

The makeup and props in this movie are amazing... realistically distorted! I will say that I am not sure this movie is for the younger kids, unless they aren't afraid of scary looking things. The Grinch isn't the only scary thing in this movie, even the Who's are a little scary. It's really fun though and I enjoyed watching it with my nephews!

The visual effects were entertaining. It is more appropriate for adults than children. Some of the humor is inappropriate. It takes the heart out of the original story. Teenagers are more prone to enjoy this movie.

I have never saw a cartoon/Book brought so wonderfully to life, as this one that Ron Howard directed.

I guess the Grinch IS obnoxious, but wasn't he in the book, too? And for the make up on the Who's go, They came pretty darn close to how the Who's looked in the cartoon.(Little noses, way off the wall hair do's, funny clothing, big feet.Also, Max the Grinch's dog is just TOO TOO cute :)
They also did a good job on the Grinch's appearance.

The thing I love most though, is the way they did the town, with all the shops, post office, etc. MILLIONS of dollars went into this, and such DETAIL on EVERYTHING!!!
It is just wonderful to watch! The DVD has TONS of extras on it too.Games, songs, etc, for the TV AND PC.

The movie is a couple hours long, but what movie isn't ? Actually, it is one hour and forty five minutes long.
Like I said , the movie is wonderful, the sets and the actors (especially Jim Carrey) are flawless, and I give it an overall 2-thumbs-up!!
It is great for kids and adults alike.

Received 24-August-2009. We love this movie & just had to buy it! My son really likes Jim Carrey & how he acts in this movie, so I had to buy it for his birthday! I only wis I could have found the Full Screen & long running version.

I liked this movie because Jim Carey is a funny guy in this movie. I enjoyed this movie because it is about Christmas.

I bought this movie for my nephew. He loves the "Ginch". I swear he cannot get by in one day without watching this movie. So in the aspect if I like the movie....no! But the children are what is important, and my newphew loves it!

This has got to be by far the best of Jim Carey. Brillint costume and makeup this move is better the Dr. Suess version. I watch it through out the year... He's that good!

This is a warm and fuzzy story and will be a favorite for families to watch together around Christmas for years to come. Jim Carrey was born to play this part and is perfect for it. Even though there is a child and a dog in it, they could not steel the show away from Jim Carrey.

Really like this movie, it even kept my husband interested and the bonus materials are funny too! I would recommend this as a good Christmas movie.

This movie is great. Jim Carey nailed the role as The Grinch "to the T." Ron Howard is such a great director as well as the rest of the cast.

I liked that it was in excellent condition especially since it was a used DVD. It looked as if i just bought it from the store, without the hassle of having to open it with all the tape and stickers on it!!

I have a 25 year old disabled daughter that loves the grinch movie and is hard on dvd's. If it wasn't for e-bay, it would be very stressfull to wait till the christmas season to buy her a new copy of her favorite movie. Thank you!

This is a great kids movie and my grandchildren were thrilled to be able to see it year round. I had not bought it at Christmas time and so ebay was a great way to get it......

I bought this movie because my daughter and granddaughter wanted it. They love it! Even though it is a Christmas movie they watch it all year. It is a great adult movie also.

Jim Carey is good in this movie. The effects and make-up were very good. A good family classic for the holidays. My daughter loves it.

Great movie for kids. We watched it several times before Christmas. The kids love it even the adults. Not scary for little ones. I would recommend 4 and up though.
