Sophomore (Or Perhaps Junior) Slump

I can say that I was fully addicted to Gray's Anatomy up until the start of season three. What was once a fresh, entertaining and shocking show seemed to have finally hit a speed bump. As if realizing that their show had gained massive popularity, the writers suddenly suffered a case of stage fright and really lost their stride. This was especially evident in the first few episodes of the season, which simply rehashed the same plot over and over again. Gone were the unique medical cases, replaced instead with a soap opera plot repeated ad nauseum.
This doesn't mean to say that the entire season is a bust. The episodes improve, though slowly, as they progress, achieving their previously quality by the time the season concludes. The season finale, especially, is exceptional.
In all, Gray's Anatomy Season Three is not for the impatient, and not for impartial fans. Only die-hards need apply.
