The Gregg Reference Manual by William A. Sabin (2001)
This book is a glorified high school grammar book; lots of info (half the 600 page book) on punctuation, capitalization, numbers, abbreviations, grammar, usage and more. Part 2 (230 pages) is techniques and formats, and Part 3 is references. There is a 20 page Glossary of Computer Terms in this section, but its value is limited because of the book's age. There is a section of Editing and Proofreading at the Computer, but all the examples are hand written (Microsoft Office 2007 with proofreading marks was not available then!) One very nice feature of this paperback book is that it is spiral bound; it's easy to open and fold back to use. I'd say it's a good desk reference is you're looking for verification or a quick review.
