Greenberg's Guides Lionel Trains Pocket Price Guide 2009 (2008, Paperback)

Lionel train collecting is my hobby. I use the guide to help determine bid prices on Lionel Trains on e-bay, at train swap meets and when purchasing trains in local train shops. I have been purchasing the guide since 1990 and find to be invaluable.

Excellent condition - provides worthwhile information. This book is written in a clear and concise style. Format is plain and easily understood.

This really helped to identify our trains and sell them. We had several train sets and had no idea how to price them. We learned each piece should be priced separatly.

I am building a Lionel model train collection. The Guide helps a lot in bidding, in not overpaying.

Quality is continuing. However, more prefratory, historical company and hobby data would make the guide even more interesting and valuable.

Depiction, in colour of various items, as was done in the 1900 - 2004 Edition would be most welcome in generating interest and more sales.

In the face of the Guide's holding up its basic dollar value over time, shows that each subsequent edition is both welcomed, sought out and purchased.

Very quick service. Book in excellent condition. I would buy from them again without hesitation. It was in new condition. Not a flaw. And it arrived quickly upon my ordering.

This book is very neat and organized, and also has some extra categories for some obscure items. The book is a perfect yardstick of information, whether you are a novice or professional Lionel hobbyist. The pricing is fair, but is really more of a purchase indicator than a selling guide. I recently listed a large quantity of high quality trains and was not able to sell them even CLOSE to their alleged Greenburg value. However, recent purchases I made were always in the ballpark. This book is very helpful, but it needs to be used as a GUIDE, not as the ABSOLUTE standard, for Lionel pricing and collecting.

This is a great guide and is a must if you collect Lionel Trains. My last version was the 2002 edition and it was time to update as I was purchasing some Lionel Train pieces.
