Green Acres - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2009, 2-Disc Set)

If you like green acres, its a must to buy all the seasons.Theres nothing that i didnt dislike, i like all of the serials.

The complete first season of the classic television sitcom from 1965-1966 is wonderful....if you like the nonsense of Hooterville. Yes, indeedy, Hooterville was there Long before Hooters, but, I digress.

If you grew up without a television (as I did) or you are very young, you might actually have missed these shows when they aired to the American population. Just in case, I will tell you a little about the characters, and the premise and you can run out and buy the set to see all the silliness for yourself!

The main characters are:

Oliver, played by Eddie Albert. Oliver is a NYC lawyer who has always yearned to own a farm and live in the country.

Lisa, played by Eva Gabor. Lisa is the Hungarian beauty, whose understanding and use of the English language sets up much of the humor. Lisa LOVES the city and does NOT want to be in the country on a farm. But Lisa loves Oliver, and Oliver is the husband, so she obliges, moving to Hooterville.

Hooterville's local residents, best described as bumpkins, or misfit oddballs, add to the general confusion of life in the country for the married couple.

My husband is crazy about this show and has been very happy with the DVD set of Season 1. His favorite character is Arnold....a PIG!!!

If you are a fan of absurd plot, but from a time of clean and wholesome programming, this wiil be nice addition to your collection.

green acres is a wonderful show. it was hilarious back them and its hilarious now. the inly thing i dont like about this dvd set is it doesn't have a play all feature. i prefer to hit play and sit back and enjoy hours of entertainment

A very humorous corny TV Series, starring very good actors and Actresses, keep you laughing episode after Episode, highly recommend it.

It was the best of tv. And my most favorite TV show of my younger years.It was some what.like My life was also as a boy.Why i bough it.Because it remine me of the good years.And when Life was Good!Ralph D. Balliet.

The Green Acres Series was a wonderful program that came out in the 60's and was very funny and entertaining. A series about a husband and wife moving out of the city and into the coutry can be quite an experience for anyone. When the creature of the show, Paul Henning, made this series, it was the total opposite of what he had created with "The Beverly Hillbillies". The Clampetts came out of the country and into the big city. They were not use to all the convenience that the big city had and it was quite a challenge. But on "Green Acres" it was a bigger challenge for The Douglas to learn how to live with not having those luxuries and conveniences that made it easy for them in the big city. And it was those experiences that the characters had is what made this DVD and great product to purchase and enjoy watching again and again.

I realy enjoy watching Green Acres and am very happy to have it to watch over and over again. It is great to laugh.

Having loved this show as a kid, I was curious to see if it would be as enjoyable now. It was even MORE fun to watch. I appreciate the humor and writing and the pure fun & silliness more now.

Admittedly, life can be tough at times and what better way to escape than a trip to Hooterville?

Good wholesome entertainment purchased to give as a gift to our friends who have a very rural ranch. Everytime we visited thier ranch I thought of the old tv series Green Acres. Will probably purchase the remaining series as well.

The content and video quality is tops but the programing of the DVD leaves me puzzled. You cannot "play all" but just one episode at a time and each time it shows the FBI warning and all the other stuff before returning to the main menu for you to select the next episode. Frustrating!

If you love good comedy without the sex and curse words you have to get this set! I have laughed so hard that my sides ache! It is clean good fun for the entire family. What a shame these gifted people are no longer with us and that the industry doesn't put on great shows like this anymore.

This is a great clean family show. I grew up watching it and now my kids are getting a chance to see a great t.v. show that is funny and very clean and they love the show. I wish t.v. shows today were still clean humor shows like they use to be.

What's not to love about Green Acres?

I want a Hoyt-Clagwell tractor, a pig named Arnold Ziffel, and a wife like Lisa!! One of the best sitcoms of all time, far exceeds today's junk Hollywood puts out.

I bought Green Acres because I used to see it when I was a little girl. At that time the TV in Brazil was in black and white but anyway I had fun with the story of a fance NY couple who decide to live in the countryside. Nowadays I can watch in colors and it still funny. For me tastes like childhood.

I DID NOT THINK I WOULD OF LIKED THIS. BUT DONT JUDGE A DVD BY ITS NAME. THIS SHOW MY WHOLE FAMILY LOVES. I WANT ALL THE SEASONS.,. WANT WANT WANT
