It's enough of a testament to the career of Barry Manilow that his catalogue can support three GREATEST HITS volumes, let alone that it supports them so well. On this third volume of the trilogy, we get a look at Barry the sentimentalist, who voices an unquenchable belief in both love and the indomitability of the human spirit. On "I Made It Through The Rain," we hear the voice of a man who triumphed over life's travails and found communion with others of similar experience. "Ready To Take a Chance Again" finds the singer willing to put his heart on the line in the hopes of finding true love." As this collection reveals Manilow to be an old softie of Jimmy Stewart-esque proportions, it's no wonder he's endeared himself to middle-aged moms the world over. As an added bonus to hardcore fans, there's also a previously unreleased tune, "Dirt Cheap."
