The moment I read the summary if these movie, i immediately want to see, not only because it happened in the philippines which i came from, but because it was a true story of one of the most heroic war history of the US military rescue mission.

I can relate the things so much on what had happened on those days since this situation happened in my home country. All the settings was perfect, they really captured the true essence of the story.

Dramatic, adventure, heroic, love story, friendship, everything! Perfect till the end.

Benjamin Bratt plays Lt. Col Henry Mucci and does his best work yet.
This movie was well done and I enjoyed it very much.
Lots of Bonus Features deleted scenes and the making of the movie.

Read the book first and found the movie followed the plot line very closely. As always, the book provided a great deal of background. I probably would of never watched the movie if I didn't read the book. Movie actors did a good job.

The Great Raid is a VERY GOOD WWII War Film! We're not much into war films as much as we are into documentaries, but this is ONE GOOD MOVIE!!

Why we bought it? We had never heard of it, but we ran across is and the cover material was very interesting, not to mention that Ebert & Roeper gave it TWO THUMBS UP. So, we thought we would check it out.

We found it to be a very interesting movie, with great special events, and some pretty graphic scenes. It is Rated R17.

BUY IT? Most Definitely!!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

It kept our attention from beginning to end, and will sure to be a movie we will share with others.

I was in the Philippines as a very young boy when this historical event occured. The story of how it went down clears lots of questions I had of what happened, excellent depiction of events and history, I am truly proud of the troops who suffered the occupation and imprisonment and the troops of liberation, my mother and I waited a long time to see our troops again whilst hiding from the Japanese in Manila. My mother didn't make it, she died of maltreatment and malnutrition. I was five years old at the time.

I liked this movie because it documented what actually happened.
I decided to buy this movie because I like war movies.

This is a great movie based on a true story.
Good bonus features with the DVD.
A good movie for the hole family but rated R.

I received the DVD in very good time. I love the movie, that is why I wanted a copy. I already had several friends borrow it and also liked it. I like WWII films.I would use this seller again.

This movie should make you proud to be an American. We must always remember what our fathers and mothers went through that we can enjoy the freedom we have today.

This movie portrays the true courage of what our men went through during WW2 against the Japanese. The quality of these men defined our country for generations. The story is amazing with action throughout and great interaction between these soldiers that their characters shine out. By the end of the movie you are along side of them desperately wanting to see each of these men overcome great odds where courage carries them through. Four stars. The actual soldiers who fought in these POW camps would be very proud of what you created in this film.

I really love this movie, and have watched it several times. It is a very good WW II story and was well done with great actors and actresses in it.

A great WWII movie. Highly recommended! A great addition to the genre of WWII movies. It is about a US raid on a POW camp in the Phillipines, just before the Japanese were set to kill the US POW's.

I saw this in the theatre and liked it so much I wanted to add it to my collection. It was not easy to come by. Connie Nielsen is great and the scenery is very realistic. Ben Bratt was also good as the leader. Very graphic at times but inspirational especially at the ending scene. 4/5 tickets
