The Great Divide by Scott Stapp (CD, Nov-2005, Wind-Up Records)

I bought this album as a gift. My boyfriend is a huge fan of the band Creed and since they made the decision not to make music together anymore this solo album was a great chance to hear Scott Stapp again. Stapp is all about meaningful lyrics and this album didn't disappoint. I'd definately recommend this album to any Creed fan that is missing their beloved band.

If you liked CREED you will love this. It's the same voice and lyrics style your were used to. If you weren't a CREED fan, you should still give it a listen - it ROCKS!!!!!!!!! Scott is such a passionate singer/songwriter and to see him live will knock your socks off! EXCELLENT!!!!

We had one of his Creed songs played at our wedding and from the words on it, I knew he was an angel. His music is amazing and the words break into your heart. God bless him for seeing the right way to go!! We love you Scott!!

Great album, creates more questions than it answers. The former lead singer of Creed still has the voice and lyrics that catapulted the band into "super band" status during its brief stint together. Creed fans are left scratching their collective heads wonder why the boys can't get back together when both bands (Scott Stapp and Alter Bridge) both have released successful albums.

Enjoy, I believe there will not be another album coming from Scott. At least he went out with a bang, instead of a whimper. Creed fans will love it.

I have only recently started listening to Creed so I'm still learning. Scott Stapp's solo album is one of my favorites right now. Believe it or not, this is music for the church crowd. They just don't know it yet. I think this project will cross many culture and religious lines if given the chance. If you like raw, edgy rock then this is one CD you must add to your collection.

I decided to buy the Scott Stapp, The Great Divide CD because my husband wanted the CD for his birthday and I found this CD on ebay for a very good price. My husband and I love the CD because we are fans of Scott Stapp.

Very good product, I love the singer, but i did not know about the case was broken.

This album, the 1st solo album by Mr Stapp, is a stunning achievement! The songs dramatize the life of Jesus. Starting with song#4, Justify--this is the temptation of Jesus by the devil after Jesus is baptized and goes into the Wilderness. Stapp gives it a modern re-telling. Let Me Go, song#5, is Jesus rebuking the devil and telling the devil that evil is worthless. Surround Me, song#7, is after Christ resists the temptations of the devil, Jesus realizes that he needs support from the Father, in Heaven. Jesus is tired from the devil and from being alone in the Wilderness. He asks for His Heavenly Father to "surround him" with Power, and this also is a metaphor for Jesus selecting His disciples who will "surround him" until He is put to death by the Sanhedrin and the Romans. The Great Divide, song#8, the title track, is Jesus again singing his Praises Of the Heavenly Father -- that although Jesus is on Earth, and His Father is in Heaven, together they will survive "the Great Divide," the separation between them until Jesus & the Father are re-united when Jesus ascends to Heaven in all His Glory. Jesus sees who He really IS --the Great I Am who became flesh and dwelt among us. Sublime, song #9, Jesus sees what his Kingdom will be: Sublime! As Stapp sings, "trying to sing a song about Heaven on Earth." This is an allusion to Christ's return to Earth, one day, to set-up His Kingdom. Broken, song #10, and the final song on the CD, describes the trials of Jesus' Crucifixion on the Cross -- "Do you know /what it feels like/ to be broken and used?/ Scared and confused?...
This album took on a profound meaning when I lined it up with the narrative of the Life Of Jesus Christ told in the Gospels in the New Testament of the Bible!!!

I tried this cd out to see what it would be like with a Scott Stapp solo cd. I found this cd to be a collection of 10 fantastic songs. I like Creed's music but would put this even above the best of Creed. If you like songs to work out to, you might want to give this cd a listen.

I love the sound of Scott Stapp!! his voice is awesome. I had this cd and my husband "borrowed" it for his truck and so I am buying my own copy to have once again, my daughter and I would listen to this on our way to our all day shopping trips. I would also recommend CREED, as Scott STapp is the voice of CREED.

Every song on this platnium selling CD is great. Showing Scott Stapp doesn't need "Creed" to go keep going, but they may need him!

I love this album..Scott's lyrics are amazing..He is a wonderful Soulfully Songwriter and performer.I am hoping that he comes out with another New album..
His songs can be interperted many ways..Depending on what You seek..
This has amazing Rythym..Wonderful..a must have for Creed fans that miss their music..

Scott Stapp brings his edgy voice to this project with passion and energy. I listened to it a couple of times, and each time I listened to it, it grew on me.

I THINK THIS CD IS A GOOD ONE. SCOTT STAPP IS JUST AS GOOD MAYBE BETTER ON HIS OWN THAN WITH CREED. LOVE THE SOUND OF ALL THE TRACKS.....LETS HOPE HE PUTS OUT ANOTHER !!!!

Yeah, his voice is awesome, but it just isn't the same without the other guys (now Alterbridge). It's like and upside down pyramid: his amazing voice is being supported by fair/good music. Kinda to-bad Creed couldn't keep going.

Good Cd...well worth the money...similar sound as his Creed-days, maybe even harder sounding on some songs. ENJOY!

i decided to buy coz its an great artist even he´s christian but whats good its good. i like this band since he was in creed thats a shame they are not together now but i hope they join again one day.

Love the new CD it is just as awesome as the Creed stuff! Stapp is still as amazing on the vocals and lyrics as ever an asset to any music fan!

I enjoy the music of Creed & when Creed were no more I was was a little upset so when I found the Scott had put out his own album I knew that this disc was meant for my collection. This is a very enjoyable album to have and the music has Creed right throughout so if you are a Creed fan then you may want to add to your collection.
