Album Notes On 2006's THE GREAT BURRITO EXTORTION CASE, the ever-goofy Texas-based punk-pop group Bowling for Soup focuses more on the "pop" part of its musical equation. Aiding frontman Jaret Reddick in this aspect of the band's sound are songwriters Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and Butch Walker, who help to give the album a highly accessible sheen without leaving BFS's guitar-heavy approach behind. In addition to a cheeky ode to "Val Kilmer," BURRITO EXTORTION CASE features the "1985"-like anthem "High School Never Ends," which sends up America's obsession with blatantly shallow news. Its mischievous brand of humor still intact, Bowling for Soup has crafted a record that's sure to please its dedicated fans and win over some new admirers as well.
Editorial Reviews Jaret Reddick sounds like he's having the time of his life, and he want you to join him and the rest of the band at the party. Kerrang
