The first volume in the Great Brain series. John D. Fitzgerald, aged eight, idolizes his older brother, Tom, aged ten. In their small, mostly Mormon town of Adenville, Utah, Tom, alias The Great Brain, is notorious for putting all situations to his--mostly financial--advantage. J.D. is constantly the dupe in The Great Brain's masterful plans, but his adoration of his brother outweighs the insult. Together the two boys and their older brother, Sweyn, live a life filled with mischievous schemes and never a dull moment.
