  The Grey Race

This is one of my all time favorite CDs. There are other great albums from Bad Religion too. After listening to it for a while and it getting scratched I decided to get a new one versus just getting the scratches removed from the old one because it refreshed the whole excitement of receiving it for the first time all over again. With so many amazing songs on it, it is definitely a CD that has yet to get old.

Surprisingly upbeat for a band that released "How could hell be any worse?" Reminds me of The Offspring and AFI.

One thing you should consider before purchasing this album is that it is addicting. I've been trying to put it on the shelf and get to the other 10 or so CDs sitting on my desk but I can't seem to bring myself to take this one out of the CD player.

The Gray Race is Bad Religion at their best and while some fans like to slam this one I have to say that I think it stands right up there with Stranger Than Fiction. You may disagree but at least give it a chance. 5 Huge Stars.

i like the tempo but i dont like having to write what i do or do not like about an album if i already "reviewed the title" and rated it.

  wast of my money
Review created: 01/01/08(updated 06/01/09)

it is by far the worst of the bad religion catalog. It just looks lke they wanted to put out a record no matter how bad it is. I just needed to finish off the bad religion collection on CD thats the only reason I picked this up.
the muscian ship is lacking the lurical content is sub par at best. It just screams we just wanted to full out our contract inorder to move on.

  Better than you Think

Of course any punkrocker knows the meaningful lyrics and melodies of BR. They have been my fave band for many years and will continue to be. This particular album actually has a lot of meaning. It was the first album without songwriter/guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. After he left, there were many questions as to whether or not they would be able to continue successfully.

Well, let me tell you. This album is at least their 2nd best (Stranger than Fiction always gets the acclaim and deserves it). Greg and the boys pulled out a 15 song masterpiece from beginning to end. Sure there are 1 or 2 filler songs, but they are hardly noticeable. The album even ends with three of the strongest songs you will ever hear by BR.

Nowadays, there is a happy reunion with Greg, Brett, and BR- but this was the first of 3 albums without him, and they didn't miss a beat.

  Flawless

This might be the place to start if you've got arrogant punk-rock friends who say that Bad Religion is better than any other punk band. They are right and this is a rock solid album that features the relentless lexicon assault of earlier works with unstoppable melody. There are no bad songs here.
