tombs of the undead
i have a few books on sunken ships of the world by robert ballard.it was fascinating to see video footage of the'titanic',as well as the'bismark'&'hood'.this book has great photo's of the period in question(world war two),and of particular interest,is the section on the bikini atoll a-bomb tests against a fleet of obsolete american warships,as well as captured booty such as the german cruiser prinz eugen, and the japanese battleship nagato.i have a dvd on 'operation crossroads'also purchased on ebay.the two complement each other like two book ends.all in all,a very interesting collection on an absorbing period in our history.my title on this piece reflects this,as history lives on for us all, particularly in the form of the written word, and cinematic/photographic images, available to most of us today.
