Grave Matters
The first two chapters cover the process of embalming and what happens after an embalmed body is buried in a "sealed" casket.
The rest of the book explores such alternatives such as cremation and "natural burial" where the body is allowed to decompose naturally after burial.
The book is very well written and gives comparative costs of the different burial methods, laws concerning burial, and how to accomplish a natural burial. I bought one copy of the book for the library and had every member of the Cemetery Commission in my town (pop. 1,000) read it. We decided to allow natural burials in our town's cemeteriesas a result of what we learned from the book.
I bought this copy for a 78 year old friend who is planning her funeral.
There wasn't anything I didn't like about this book. I highly recommend it.
